Windows 10 Issue?

Hey fellow Pilots!

I upgraded to windows 10 yesterday and everything is working fine except for eve online =[.

When i open the launcher it loads and updates like normal, i log in and it launches client. This all works like normal until the eve window pops up, it shows the small box in the middle which is always there when logging in, but as soon as im logged in, the character selection doesn't pop up?

Its just a black screen with nothing loading? I can press escape, change graphics but cant see my character selection.

Anyone got any thoughts, would be greatly appreciated =].

Have you tried a reinstall of Eve? Working great on Win10 here on 3 pc.

Uninstalled, restarted computer and then re-downloaded and installed it, exact same problem =[ Any other ideas?

Reinstall DirectX 9.0c from a re-distributable install. Also make sure the DotNet interfaces are all installed. There is some stuff to do with DirectX 9 on windows 10 not being natively installed.

.NET is basically part of the OS now and days. We are no longer dealing with XP or 2003. If you have .NET corruption it is simply easier to just reinstall the OS than it is to deal with all the BS that is involved with rebuilding it. Regarding video drivers I have not heard of updating the drivers resolving the problems. However I have heard of people encountering BSOD or random generic errors when running EVE. Things like a black screen. Updating the driver, fiddling with the EVE settings and updating the control panel for the video never seemed to do anything. Additionally the dmp files all seemed to point to AuthenticAMD. In our change management we had updated all the drivers / chipset and tested the hardware for issues. Eventually we just gave up and did a clean install. A lot of the issues seemed to be resolved by doing a clean fresh install. So the problem was most likely some driver or some update windows had installed.

EDIT: I have heard and tried to help people out with their windows 10 issues using EVE. All the issues were resolved by doing a clean install. A lot people are reporting problems, however officially EVE is not supported from windows 10 just yet.

Just in case you havn't done it.

Delete your graphics driver, download and install the appropriate Win10 driver for your gfx card.
Even if you updated to win10 driver before updating, you might need to reinstall.

One thought.. there are many reports of issues when upgrading from Win 7 and earlier to Win 10.. I upgraded mine from Win 8.1 and the install worked fine, Eve runs fine, all other games run fine.

Many folks that experienced issues simply did a full new install of Win 10 and the issues went away.

Search for other Windows 10 issues threads, especially in the issues forum.

Also try right-click launching as an administrator (or whatever the Win10 equivalent is).

I believe one of the devs mentioning running Eve as administrator clears up a lot of issues.

Did you, by any chance, switch from a local account to a Microsoft account (or vice versa) during the upgrade?
