CCP - Guys you really made my day. Great idea.
Did i get any award for finding the monolith? ;)

Is theare any reason why you put it into the relic site?

Bravo!

Like Bagrat said, they are theroized to be stellar maps or something to the Talocan - the guys whose derelict ships you might encounter in Anoikis from time to time. Almost certainly a nod to the Space Odyssey ofc.

There are several in k-space as well, one of the more well known ones is in the Dead End -system near the EVE Gate.

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/The_Black_Monoliths I have found one in Genesis/Dead End.

"Frauenversteher wissen, was Frauen wollen. Aber Frauen wollen keine Frauenversteher. Weil Frauenversteher wissen, was Frauen wollen." (Ein Single)

"Wirklich coolen Leuten ist es egal, ob sie cool sind." (Einer, dem es egal ist)

Better check your ship computer and make sure everything is OK.

About 6 years ago while on a mission for a Caldari Cosmos Agent, I happened to encounter a 'Black Monolith'. I decided to investigate it and when I got close, it's appearance started to change. All I could say was "My God, it's full of stars".

That's when my ship computer said - "Hello Dave, it's good to be working with you again."

Needless to say, my name isn't Dave so I knew something was wrong. After I gave the order for my ship to return to station for maintenance my ship computer said - "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."

In order to gain manual control of my ship, I had to remove the main UUB Nexus Chip and AI circuits from the motherboard in the ship computer. Doing that resulted in the loss of all sensor readings but I did manage to save a visual scan of my encounter with the 'Black Monolith'

Anyway, after that incident I had to do a complete reboot of the ship computer. Since then my ship computer has worked correctly except for one small side effect, it keeps insisting I call it 'HAL'.

Oh well, at least it's not calling me 'Dave' anymore. That's why I said check your ship computer and make sure everything is OK.

By the way, a couple years ago CCP sponsored a 'Sightseeing' contest and one of the various Tourist locations was the 'Dead End Monolith'. That time I kept my distance and managed to get a very good visual scan of it without any incident happening.

Indeed. If you look closely enough, you'll see that it is simultaneously one pixel and an infinite number of pixels.

Why do you always presume that the progression stops? Blink
