I think that happened when a certain capsuleer - let's just call him Az Tek for now, somehow managed to seize control of the channel and was holding it ransom to extort money from the other participants.
Still, no matter how much I try, I simply cannot hate this guy. Ransoming entire chat channels is EVE as f*ck, kudos and well played.
