Launcher stuck on "initializing..." after downtime

Just nope. For those lucky 8000+ players that are apparently online, that's fine, but the rest of us are stuck with a dud launcher and even going straight to the .exe doesn't work.

Professional curiosity, how many people with this problem are on Windows 10?

Though I did run the Repair tool before hand, and that downloaded some shiz or other.
Try that mate.

Just tried the above and it worked for me! C drive > Program Files x86 > CCP > EVE > bin > exefile -- this bypasses the launcher /patcher tho so be careful not to use it to often

works now for me, just restart the launcher than it should start patching. had the issue for like 20 minutes too

I had the same problem. Look in the directory were your game was installed. For example mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin. Inside the bin folder is exefile.exe. This is what the launcher calls to start the game. Also in the top right corner of the launcher itself is a cog. If you use the advanced section and click repair it will update you to the latest version of the game. So
1. repair to update the game
2. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin and launch exefile.exe from there.

Hope this works for you guys. It did for me.

FIX, as said by someone above:

Run the launcher in SAFE MODE, it will download the patch.

Log in.

Had this also. Clearing launcher cache and running repair fixed it though, it was able to dl the patch after that.

Had same issue after downtime. I deleted Launcher folder and launched repair tool. Works again. If that helps anyone.

Launcher seems to have suddenly woken up.

It's doing a patch thing. At least it's past Initializing.

running repair.exe (even with wine@ubuntu) before exefile.exe does help a lot.

launcher is still stuck...

Ran repair tool.. It finished unsuccessfully. Restarted launcher and now it's updating. Logging in now.

WTF.

Finally got in by running from Safe Mode. Same errors, issues. Additionally there's no Repair Tool located in my Eve folder, and THIS LINK didn't work. Gave error message "Data Package unavailable"
