Galatea - Mac feedback & issues

Galatea has been deployed on August 25 during a regular downtime.


With Galatea we see an iteration on sovereignty capture mechanics, new Designer SKINs, improved visual effects of utility modules, a new Dominix model, UI improvements and more. The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the Galatea patch notes.

Hi,

not smooth this time:

1) Patch download stuck around 80 %, process Killed
2) Patch download stuck at 0%, killed
3) downloaded mac repair tools --> https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1368900
4) first run of repair tool very very slow for the last 2 % but finished
5) patch download in launcher stuck at 0 % but other size
6) second run of repair tool, faster around 10 MB download size
7) third run of repair tool stuck at database corrupt, loading reapir reipice, killed
8) reboot
9) launcher starts, updates shared cache
10) client ready, login possible

i have to update 2 more Systems at home and will see.

in my oppinion it maybe a performance / connecttivty issuse with internet Servers.

PS: i run the update from an enterprice grade 10 MB fixed ip connection from german telecom.

Launcher stuck at 0.0%, have had so many problems with the mac that I decided to re-install. Deleted everything and then downloaded a new client, the mac will not install, I get 'image not recognised'.
My Eve experience on the mac is awful.

'image not recognised' means that the download file ****.dmg is corrupt. If you cannot mount it so that it is visilble in finder delete it and try another download

I should've added 'I tried three times'. They have taken the installer down now, so I guess I'm playing the waiting game.

EDIT: Installer is back up and works.

i updated my 2 other systems, 5 Minutes no Problem at all.

looks like a network issue earlyer this day.

it always took 2 or 3 times to start eve without crashing, but after the patch still no luck after 7 tries. eve gets stuck on black screen every single time. tried clearing launcher cache and app cache without success. doing full reinstall now.

I am having a pretty big problem with this patch.

I can log into the came without issue the first time (although every time there is a new major patch, it seems to take ten more seconds for the game to load). However, if I log out of the game and try to log back in, it never takes me to the character selection screen. Instead, the screen stays black and the only solution is for me to reboot my machine.

This has happened literally six or seven times TODAY. This is a major inconvenience and needs to be fixed.

And speaking of fixing things, it seems that CCP is ignoring all of the problems that Mac users are having. This includes the ship being completely invisible when cloaked at highest resolution. However, a bigger problem is the complete inability to log out of one account without the other one freezing when multiboxing. And after the game freezes and I force quit, half the time my character (and ship) remains in game until I physically shut my computer down. I have reported this bug multiple times and CCP seems to be ignoring it, other than saying it's a known issue. Rather than pushing out all these patches, can we please fix some of the problems we're currently having?

Can't help you with the top half, but for the last part about the client freezing!

Do you start both(all) accounts from the launcher?
Or
Do you use a clone?

If you took your head out of your arse and read like the top two Mac Fourm post not created by CCP, you would know that CCP has stated a number of times about the freeze issue - that it isn't on their end but with CIDER.
You'd also know that CCP has no reported issues of clients freezing on each other when you use the clone maker (when you quite one)

If the clone maker throws you an error, just show package and find the script to run. It isn't that hard.

I ran my clients off of the launcher for a day - kept freezing. Made clones, haven't had a problem in the two years I have add my accounts.

Client stuck at "initializing" with today's patch. Yesterday I lost over an hour due to client update problems, once again stuck.

redownloaded client as per support article and copied to main application folder. no change, sill stuck at 'initializing...'

I downloaded the latest Eve Online package eve-premium_010474_958007-mac.dmg and it also gets stuck at initializing.

So, paying subscriber, totally locked out of Eve, by "successful update". Well done.
