We have priate cruisers
We have pirate battleships
We have pirate reaking supers! REVALATION

OMG THERE ARE PIRATE SHUTTLES AND FREAKING NOOBSHIPS

But we cant have a porate Battlecruisers?
How does that make any sense whatsoever at all dude? AT ALL?

we should totally have pirate dreadnoughts and carriers!

amiriteguyz!? guyz?

Actually this wouldn't be a bad idea once CCP redesign Supers & Titans into T2 Carriers & Dreads.

While cool, the problem is that there is not effective usage of the existing pirate ships much outside of pve as it is.

You've got to be kidding me. Do you even play Eve?

BCs under current meta would not go down too well.

I must agree. Subcaps need more work as it is. Introducing more op ships will only make things worse.

Oh cmon, have a little faith in CCP *coughs*.

With the lackluster state the BCs and CSs are in, how can anything else introduced in this class be possibly OP?

The only problem CS have is the time it takes to train into them. That said there are a few situations where they are amazing like for example on a boosting alt that can bring the dps and tank of a BS without having to train any of the BS skills or weapons. They really are amazing little ships and if the training for them wasn't so insane more people would fly them.

ps. not that I am suggesting a change in their skill requirements, just saying why there aren't as many of them flying around.

I would love to see a much more diverse supply of pirate ships myself. But to really make that effective, we would need to enhance the lowsec and nullsec NPC pve to allow access to said ships easier. Ideally, a pirate operating out of lowsec would have these be the most easily accessible and affordable ships for their lifestyles. Assorted options for how to get there.

you dont go out much do you? Of the 10 cruisers i got right now in station 5 are pirate faction and i am pretty sure they were never used for pve

Since I regularly run into them I'd like to know your source on this

My source is a terrible one thinking about it... A few years out of date experience. I would only really see cynabals outside of the frigs. New and improved farming does make expensive pvp ships more the norm I guess?

Problem is I do go out and as such, dont spend time on the farm grind or money for a multibox. I need to check prices but cost of pirate hulls used to be more than I would care to lose. If PvP had more financial aspect, that would be different.

People love the Gnosis, why dont we have pirate faction BCs?

Could this fix the BC under-usage problem?

Go. Away.

Don't make me expose you in Kamio local again.

If you think you've won, think again.

Oh no, the "everyone better in eve than me has no social live" argument. Damn you really showed it to him Roll

Only because you can't afford to use pirate ships doesn't mean everyone else couldn't. Pirate ships are very much used from frigate to battleship all over eve in PvP. In fact alliances are fielding full fleets of them.

I'd rather see the existing battlecruiser line be made worth using first.

Taken out of the context of the "Don't get out much" that I had quoted. It was said so made a retort is all. Don't take it seriously. I wasn't a point of saying those that invest more time and effort should have them.

Is good that they are becoming more common. I spent a couple years out there in null before leaving in 2012. Never really saw them. A buddy of mine in rl flew mach pvp ships back in the day and was damned good at it. I believe in tactics and a good player doesn't lose it.

I could afford it as well, but the means that to get said isk, I find is no fun at all. I would rather be poor and enjoy all aspects of eve. This gets into incursion, isk balance, risk reward, etc. A whole 'nother set of topics. 200m cruisers, well I could farm on the weekend and get a few of em all fitted without much of a sweat.

The initial point I was trying to make, that was gotten off beat, was I feel that if a player is skilled, piracy life should be as financially fulfilling as highsec life if played right. Different play style though. I used myself as example because if I want to play pirate, that means I have to play carebear. I actually like the concepts of eve pvp. I also enjoy roleplay and most every space game, I prefer the freedom of piracy life and the tension. I could pretend to be pirate by having another account carebear for me, but that is still I dunno, only pretend pirate?

So to get it back into context, what I was saying is that if getting more pirate ships, it would be nice if there was more diverse reward for being a pirate and ways to make more isk doing piracy. Meaning pirate PvE, and rewards based on comparative standings for pvp. So two ways to get pirate faction ships. The current way, or by working for said corporation. Ideally, you could spend all your time pvping without ever needing a minute doing pve. If good, when you lose your ship? Well it paid for itself by earning LP for that faction. As such, a skilled player at pvp would have hangars of say Angel faction ships with full angel equipment all paid for by lp made from killing those who are in bad standings with angels and high security.

If they implemented that, I would probably never go to highsec. I am doing the same gameplay, but now it is pure lowsec instead of stints in lowsec combined with way more highsec work/farming/etc just to have some fun. Piracy in eve just doesn't feel like piracy to me. It is more like the rich college kids who think they are being badass cause they had a guided expedition up a mountain. Just way too much carebear, no matter how you look at it, for actual piracy in eve.

I am asking this question seriously because I do not know. Aside from tearing down poses to steal modules, how can a person actually make a living in pirate space without carebear either with that character or on alt? Just hoping for the newb who plexed up his ship to accidentally wander in? Catch that loaded explorer that for some reason wasn't paying attention?
