My footage of the assassination of Empress Jamyl is up, should anyone want to use it for review/investigatory purposes. Figured I'd offer it for those who may want to take some closer looks...

I am a self-admitted paranoid.

Having said that, being no stranger to the proclivities of power politics and the duplicities that hide therein.

I would encourage my Imperial Brethren to be attentive to perceived friends.

Here also are the heralds of his praise...

I wasn't thinking of pledging allegiance to the Empire. It simply seems as the Drifters are presently the greater threat to all the cluster, and joint effort is called for. Who would call the meeting of the nations?

Perhaps CONCORD can be put to good use.

CONCORD's already begged out of this war. The Drifters hit them, and it was CONCORD that folded - that autopsy, remember?

I have updated the initial post to better reflect the information we have on hand.

Thank you all for your condolences and well wishes. The Empire will move forward from this in time.

Perhaps if I didn't think letting the Empire burn might also mean letting the Federation burn along with it, I might be more inclined to do that, Anslo. Unfortunately neither my conscience nor my pragmatism allows me to do that.

They're the ones saying they don't need help. So don't help them.

Yeah good luck with that Amarrian since you couldn't even manage to protect your own head of state in your core worlds surrounded by a good portion of the Imperial Navy and dozens of independent capsuleers.

You really should allow cooler heads to prevail and not strike out blindly in your anger.

You'd also better pray to your deity that the Drifters aren't planning a full-scale war on your people. I doubt you could repel such an attack without the help of the other empires.

What it also provides is an utter incapability of capsuleers to counter a surprise assault of such magnitude. The demi-gods of our time were defeated and could not do a single thing about it.
If not even the most powerful and largest Empire of the Big 4 can repel such an attack, what will the fragile and in comparison unorganized capsuleer empires in the outer regions with their thin spread be able to do? They should start praying that they are not their next target, now that their alleged primary attention focus has supposedly ceased to exist.

Jamyl's death is certainly a shock, but it is nothing the Amarr Empirer cannot overcome. It has happened before several times, and every time the Amarr Empire emerged stronger, more focused and more powerful. In contrast to other figureheads, Jamyl returned to the public and remained a publicly visible and approachable person (very literally as she roamed around more often then ever before in recent times) despite the threat these hostile aliens posed to her empire. It remains to be seen whether other leaders will demonstrate the same boldness in the face of this kind of threat should it turn its gaze upon them.

Nonsense. The gathered capsuleers were not defeated. They, like the Amarr Navy escorts, were ignored. This was a surgical strike, and the Drifters immediately retreated before anyone could close the distance to get points and engage.

I really hoped that she will return, as she did it before. Unfortunately, the Empire stated otherwise.
Sad day indeed.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

It is well known, or should be, that there is no real possible defence of a particular ship against a determined attacker.

It is not like the ground combat of old, where a soldier could carry a shield large enough to protect both themselves and a comrade.

They were defeated in a way that they expected Driters to show up but could not do anything once they did. Previously, they could engage. Capsuleers expected the same behavior to take place this time, but their foolish expectation was betrayed by the enemy employing radically different tactics. Capsuleers are deemed by the general populace and military forces to be superior beings, capable of realizing marvelous things. Yet they were fooled just like normal human beings. I call this a defeat. How will you react if they show up in your capital and employ these unpredictable surgical strikes that you cannot counter. These numbers could have turned a fleet of nearly one thousand capsuleers to rubble and they could not have done a single thing about it. If this is not defeat, what is, I ask you?
