Love "jump fatigue AND make capitals hit small fast targets".

Jump fatigue is a huge success. All huge groups hate it, as intended.
Small groups who just want a small pocket of space kinda like it but
we need "Capitals to hit fast small targets" again please.

Please make capitals awesome again, even if they cannot travel quickly.

I don't usually type "LOL", but when I do it's in response to threads like this.

There's SOME merit to this idea though.

Small targets, no, smallER targets, sure.

All the other capitals besides carriers need some work to be made more relevant again besides just a POS bash.

Dreads and titans should have drone bays but not super big drone bays something moderate i guess i mean it doesnt make sense that a hugeass ship doesnt have any defesne mechanicsm against smaller ones, or a new module specialized in dealing damage against smaller ships like fitting small weapons in the medium modules or something like that, but said small guns deal less damage than frigate mounted ones or something like that.,

I think your capital should have a weak point so a small ship can one shot it. Think X-Wing vs Death Star.

Must better idea for the future of New Eden.

Capitals can already hit small targets. It's called having a support fleet with webs and paints.
I get the distinct feeling that the intent of your post is to make capital ships able to "solo" other subcaps with ease and without support.
Capital ships, and I'm assuming you're referring to dreads btrw OP, are simply a tool. A tool to output HUGE amounts of dps for the purpose of chewing through things with a lot of hitpoints (structures and other capital ships).
EVE isn't a game where you race to sit in the biggest ship with the biggest guns and automatically win. Every ship from frigate to titan has it's role and use. But I'm sure you already are aware of that.

Carriers on the other hand are a different story. With drone navs in the mids and subcap drones in your bay you can easily kill fast moving targets.

I can't stress the point enough though, that without a support fleet, no matter if you're a dread or carrier, you're useless and ready to be ganked.

There is such a thing as the right tool for the right job.

Dare I say, try flying something else than your capital some time. I know that might hurt your super epeen ego, but sorry to say capital ships are not the answer to everything, and should never be.

They were removed to make them less effective against sub caps, because for a time, Cap fleets could effectively engage sub cap fleets and not need their own support fleet.
That was deemed bad for the game, so drone bays were removed and capital guns/fighters has their tracking nerf'd.

And in the process completely remove the need for smaller ships since caps can shoot them anyway?

Nevermind that caps can apply respectable damage in many scenarios already. This thread is dumb

Sure, why not?

I mean like, so far the only people who've voiced opposition to your suggestion are people who are bad at the game and don't know very much about it.

It couldn't hurt anything other than the bads who chose to train ships other than capitals, but really it's not our fault they chose to train weak dumb people ships.

+1 Caps should be able to hit small fast targets.
