However I dont think the powers that be and their respective blue doughnuts can be shifted by anyone other than themselves, or another legendary AWOX (which is especially unlikely against goons in particular unless that community splits internally, which paradoxically is even more unlikely to happen given even the nature of that community). The fall of BoB also has immunized the community on the grand scale against anything similar happening again.

Indont think there is all that much CCP can do without overstepping and unfairly treating the powers that be and what they have rightfully earned and own. Furthermore, most every conceivable change has to be considered feom the position of the powers that be, and how they can use their vast resources to capiltaize on that even further than the smaller powers those changes would superficially enable.

Trend seems to be from CCP to move away from the vast fleet battles, both in design decisions, server infrastructure and understandably to get away from TDI, by attempting to disperse battles to multiple fronts. I think thats a good direction, but the perfect solution of how to enact that remains elusive.

EVE is a pioneer in this kind of arena of gaming. There are no ready and tested solutions to adopt from other games.

For the time being, the status quo persists with minor annoyances attached to interval changes, till some genius has an eureka moment or perhaps a series of small changes presents an opportunity in totality that wouls not have been possivle if that groundwork was not laid first.
