I'm having some issues following being installed on Windows 10.

Issue 1: The launcher using 100% of a single core.
Issue 2: I can only use DirectX 9

To clarify, this is a clean install of 10 not an 'Upgrade'.

Any other people having these issues?

I know this is no help, but my company's I.T. department sent this out. It is one of the few things they've ever did right.

i.e. Early adoption is not without risks.

As you may be aware, Windows 10 is being released tomorrow and Microsoft is offering this as a free upgrade for everyone with the exception of those using the Enterprise version. As you also may know, you need to let any major operating system some time to get issues resolved prior to using them. Software vendors also need to patch and update current applications which takes some time.

IT will be starting to test Windows 10 in the next month and if things look promising we will be looking at an uplift of our eligible systems in the December-January time frame.

As a *former* Microsoft employee, I can only +1 this sage advice from your IT department :-)

I've got it reserved, I won't be changing from 7 on my desktop until at least Xmas though. I'm waiting for it to mature a bit and for Microsoft to iron out the inevitable release bugs.

My laptop on the other hand was already running the preview so I updated it with no problems at all.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

And to answer your question, people may reply if they have a similar problem, but as far as getting actual tech support from CCP, you'll have to wait until they make an announcement that the game is compatible and they support it. Which will probably take them a little bit.

Though, it probably won't hurt to open a support ticket or bug report.

Working fine for me. I did an upgrade though, not a clean install. I am using Pro, what version are you using?

I cannot find the link but there was a topic around here awhile back on Direct X 9. If memory serves me correctly the basic answer is because of the large installed base of systems that cannot run Direct X 12 EvE will be staying with Direct X 9 for now.

My only problem was that the launcher had a permission denied issue that was solved by running as admin. That was it.

Eve's using DX 11 by default now (iirc. I think it's the default. It's certainly in use)

Atm, as a workaround for Windows 10, you can start the application in compatibity mode (Windows 8) .
doing so, i was able to have DirectX 11 available again and able to press the "save" button too (was trying to download all resources, but save button wasn't working)

Edit: i'm using a fresh install of win10

While you think the thing is free you're actually doing beta (if not alpha) testing for free.

Just to put my 2 cents (or 2 pence for us UK residents).

When running up my eve clients for the first time after the upgrade, the windowed screens looked odd. everything appeared to look softer and all of the panels in the app overlapped each other.

What I had to do for each of the clients is put them back into full screen mode and then back to windowed mode (and resize them to the size I want). After changing to full screen and back again, the "softer look" disappeared and it all looks how it used to with Win 8.1.

Just another quickie for those who are getting frustrated with a certain issue. If you choose the option to hide the Windows taskbar, this does not take effect till you log out and back in again!!
