you can own 1 combat pilot drone at a time.

The pilot drone is loaded into the cargohold of a designated combat ship.

The pilot drone can be activated once every 24/48 hrs.

When activated the pilot drone will undock the designated ship and fly by auto pilot to the destination where it was originally activated from, be it a station or point in space.

So if ur a war decced miner and cant undock because you only have a barge or u have been podded and stuck in a station with the wolves at your door then you still have a chance to fight when the combat pilot arives, If he hasnt been killed along the way.

As the combat pilot is not human then it cant fly under its human owners corp but must fly under a NPC until it reaches its destination.

I think that is the first time someone has ever suggested this idea. With that said, this idea is not necessary.

If you need to move a ship, and for some reason cannot fly it yourself, I recommend putting up a courier contract to Red Frog Freight and having them move it for you. As long as your ship is worth less than a billion, this is a pretty decent way to move it. Just pay attention to their rules.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

If couriers could get u a ship when u are in the **** then players would be using that facility, correct me if im wrong, but dont u need to be in the same station as the stuff your contracting???? this isnt about spamming for a courier service but about a real feature that could improve the excitement of the game. instead of been stuck in a station somewhere unable to dock and then logging off because u cant do anything, Activate your pilot drone and take the fight to them :)

Nope, you don't need to be in the same station to make a contract. You can also ask people to seed your station if you don't have it anywhere else. Or another member of your corp to bring some stuff.
And if they are station camping you, they would kill your autopiloting combat drone ship, even if it counts as if it was 'you' for concord protection.
If it counts as NPC, that's just utterly broken since that's Wardec immunity.

Basically, there already exist many ways to deal with your problem.

I think this is not needed, especially not since the latest changes to jump clones.
Seriously, just get the skill and scatter a few clones across your home constelation...

As you stated, these ships would have to change to an NPC corp - probably not easy to implement.
Another question would be what settings does the AP have? Save or short route?
Since there is no player sitting in those ships they would not even have the most basic bonis of your skills, like for the sub-warp velocity or the HP. There are already Groups who gank player because they are using the AP, they would be happy for easier tagrets, i think...

So to make the scenario clear, you are camped 24/7 in a highsec station because you only live in one system on one station with no friends and forgot to make a jumpclone or an undock spot.

So you had multiple ways to avoid this and used none and want a get out of jail card.

This sounds like you are trying to solve a problem caused by short-sightedness that already has a solution.

Even if this was the case, it is still entirely possible to leave the station in your pod (which instawarps before anyone can lock you) and get another ship from elsewhere (you can then use this ship to make an insta-undock bookmark and retrieve the ship you left behind).

And as already mentioned, if you're so bad at even the basics of Eve that the above process is beyond you, you can still pay Red Frog to move the ship for you.

If he's so bad at Eve, i doubt he will have enough ISKies to pay Red Frog.

NO - game controlled AI should never be allowed to control player owned ships.

If moving ships while you are under a war dec is the genesis of this idea set up an alt character on your account, leave that alt in an NPC corp and then contract the ship to that alt to move.

If you want this because you have a ship 20 opr 30 jumps away and you are to lazy to go and get it, then contract Red Frog and have them move it for you.
