RAGE: Game Crashes Still Erase EVE Settings

CCP, do you have any clue how long it takes to setup all the stupid little details in this game to make it comfortable?

How about you dedicate some small amount of development time to end this nonsense forever? Automatically backup the damn settings on launch or something, so you're never more than one play session's changes away from recovering from these stupid crashes.

I may never get it back to the way I had it because I had it setup so damn long ago that I stopped thinking about configuring settings. Now it's all a broken mess, and I have to waste an inordinate amount of time trying to recreate what I already had.

This is the sort of hassle that really does make me want to walk away.
