Ok, so i was trawling through the forums and seen this locked thread.

Going on about trans people.

Seriously, stop, we do not want GamerGate, Social Justice Warriors or people that throw arround Gender Identity Politics in EvE.
If you cannot stand people slagging off who/what you are/sleep with or what you identify as, dont speak about it. It has NO place in New Eden, it will just encourage the delicate flowers that can't stand anything being harsh and ruin the game quicker than anything.

So please, for the love of god, leave that crap in the real world, both side of it, and just focus on EvE and New Eden.

Being trans is a diagnosed psychiatric condition. It isn't "gender identity politics".

The nature of how they bring it up might be, though. If they're antagonistic about it (fishing for arguments) then yeah.

Eve Online has been remarkably immune to the Tumblr scourge. And I'm not referring to the few people who are LGBT, but the hordes of mentally ill bullies who use them as their shield and would go back to cutting themselves if there was no hashtag campaign to get behind and no warm glow of wrecking someone else's life.


I see Gallente has been brought up. Yes there was political opposition in the Gallente storyline versus Jacus Rhoden in the last election whereby one opposition leader is rather "proggy" in rhetoric. Rhoden is supposed to be the seedy criminal sort (well, he is actually) and the opposition whose name I forget, a female candidate was just all full of koombaya. But that would be par for the course in something like a Federation.
The cold hard reality is that something like the Gallente Federation must have a Jacus Rhoden in charge to save it, and this, depicted in the novel "Templar One", fits in well with the cold harsh reality of Eve.

So going back on point, Eve pretty much starts out as a place where there are no hug boxes. In Eve, your hug box will get ganked Uedama and you will be out of luck.

I'm straight and sincerely hope no one thinks less of me because of it. I knew I was straight when I was 13 or 14 years old. I don't think any less of anyone because of their sexual preference. I honestly couldn't give a **** less. I have more important things to concern myself with - like the prospect of another Bush or Clinton in the White House.

Considering the OP of this thread, I'm surprised anyone replied.

New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.
