I'm mining cause tomorrows release and the rediculous weight being placed on indexes. I don't mine cause it is as I stated THE WORST ISK PER HOUR AND MOST BORING THING IN THE GAME, just like everyone else.

Well, some alliances are ADAPTING by RECRUITING mining corps.

There are actually people that enjoy mining, regardless of the efficiency of ISK generation.

I've been following the recruitment forum, and it is funny to see old ads stating they don't want indy people, only PvP, and the new ads stating even small indy corps are welcome Big smile

If you don't enjoy mining, you really shouldn't do it.

That is all fine and dandy, but as I stated and I've seen this happen like 3 times now... any miners that get recruited out to Null from carebear land stop mining for good within weeks as they see all the isk that can be made in Null way easier and more bountiful than mining with any kind of boosts.

Mining is crap and any miner that comes out to Null isn't gonna keep mining for long.

under three hours in a barge in over six months isn't exactly an 'onerous' obligation for something that is 90% AFK while I go pewpew elsewhere.

I joined a mining op once -- I was CEO. Gang chat was "XX wants an invite what do we do?" So I can appreciate the fun of doing an op for different reasons.

SOV Isn't for SOLO, but you miss the point... Mining isn't for everyone... Mining is almost for no one... anyone that comes out to SOV as a miner literally stops mining within a week as it is the WORST isk per hour in the game not to mention the most boring thing in the game. THE INDEX NEEDS TO BE EASIER TO LEVEL PERIOD.

You addressed none of my logic/statements and just sidestepped the entire issue. NO ONE MINES IN THIS GAME!

Another one that presumes a lot.

Lot's of players mine in this game, and ENJOY IT.

Myself included.

So travel out to nullsec is difficult now. Mining the minerals you need to build in nullsec is hard now. Holding sov in nullsec is hard now. So what's the advantage to investing the capital needed for industry in nullsec?

I wonder if any of ccps economists did the over-under on what all this extra required mining is going to do to the markets.

is there a way one can calculate the amount of ore that must be mined to get a level?
and how much must be mined to maintain it?

and such with ratting?

i have old numbers for mining from a bloodtear document but i guess that is out of date.

any help is good.

Given that mineral prices - especially the low ends - are at historic highs, and that the game designers also very much want to encourage local 0.0 industry, I'd hazard a guess that they're comfortable with it at the moment.

Uh what? he didn't say anything about mining in 0.0 being harder now, just about the amount one needs to do to raise the local sov index. Mining in 0.0 is about as easy as it has ever been, with unlimited amounts of ore available as well.
