Hey, I don't remember which patch exactly it was but one of the more recent patches removed the ability to custom set via slider things such as transparency, opacity, color (rgb sliders) etc to provide a custom feel for each character you have by knowing exactly what overview color it had (you could set garishly 'loud' colors, high intensity pink/blue/etc to quickly know what character your controlling between switching them on the same monitor). I also used on my main for the aesthetic of having my own custom colors on my overview (something that is gone, as there are only a locked set of game approved colors to be picked from).

As an example of some pre-removal use of this feature:

You can see that in the current presets there's nothing matching this, nothing comes close, not to mention you could make literally endless customizations of whatever colors you wanted.

Why was this feature removed? I think it was cool you fleshed out the preset colors and made it where each race and ship in game has a theme that can be swapped between via options but why take out the sliders?

Punkturis plz give them back ur my only hope

While I would love my old color schemes back, that doesn't change the fact that this thread falls under Rule 17, and has been reported as such.

No you see a key feature of a sandbox is that we should have as little agency as possible in determining how our screen looks. Nothing says "player controlled" like refusing to give the players any customisation options in their UI. Only stupid themepark players want that kind of option.

You're not a stupid themepark player are you?

I hereby support this idea. We need more politically correct colors.

I am sorry for talking geek but the overview is a yaml file which you can edit and add color of your liking to them. Some colors are recognized by name, some need the hex code for them which look this this: #0000FF (blue).

65536 colors are available inculding but not limited to white and black.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

I would just like for them to remove the transparency effects from being tied to window pinning. Or, at least make the zero transparency end of the slider actually make the windows, you know, remove transparency...please? It's kind of annoying that ambient light sources still bleed through easier than an arterial wound being dressed up by a "Sponge-Bob" band-aid.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
