You do realize that with each new volunteer, your chance of upkeeping this doctrine falls immensely? You can build a disciplined task force up to some size, but sooner or later, someone who brought too much ammo will just start shooting. Boredom, curiosity, it doesn't really matter.

Thank you. Good luck is the one thing we can never have too much of when venturing into Anoikis.

Well that will come down to individual discipline on the part of the fleet members and Matar's judge of character. Should be an interesting test of both if nothing else.

A quick question for those who have faced the Drifters in combat: Consider drones assigned to a ship and the outer shield on a BS is depleted under that ships fire. Does the Drifter DD the ship that has the drones assigned to it or the ship that the drone which delivers the killing blow belongs to?

I've found that to the question that "What does this thing do against Drifters?" or "Does a Drifter do -blank-?" that the answer is almost always the more detrimental option.

It's completely random as far as we can tell. Scope Works had deployed a number of times against Drifters in known space with Psychotic Tendencies (TISHU) and Overload Everything (OE) during their initial sightings.

We engaged with capital and super capital assets only. We won each engagement, but the beam weapon was discharged in a random way each time. We didn't try with sub capital assets, as the only sub capital setup that could withstand the beam weapon is expensive enough that fielding a few carriers is actually cheaper.

There is, from our experience, simply no rhyme or reason to what they attack with that beam weapon. Their standard weapon....we can kind of guess what will be hit. But that main cannon? Hell no.

Have you ever observed it being fired more than once by the same ship? That's very relevant.

Nope. Never. At least, not from what we saw.

I think I have to agree with the above. Your OpSec on this venture is broken. Especially considering the previous response by CONCORD and the DED when a team went out and found something they shouldn't have.

Assemble your team quietly among pilots you trust or can buy. Do not announce your findings until they are complete.

I mention this only in passing, but I am a long-time expert with the Anathema and I have a decent rating with an Astero.

I have also been known to fly a stealth bomber. On occasion...

But I digress.

Please send me a mail of what you're after. I'm very interested in researching the drifter presence. Give me a list of ships you may need I would love to run protection for you and your fleet.

I would like to learn more about why they are here and why they act like they do.

I join my corpmate Neo (above) in volunteering my services for this expedition out of pure scientific curiosity and the desire to document it in my journal and in the wider media so that, in extremis, if none of us makes it back in one piece Tukoss-style, then there will be some record of our findings.

I have previous experience in the form of making a tentative reconnaissance of the first part of the 'Barbican' complex, in which I managed to map all the Unidentified Wormhole access points open at that time, revealing that more than half of them were in Amarr space and validating the concentration of Drifter activity in the region. I did not get to proceed further into the complex before my ship was spotted by a Drifter battleship and one-shot, so I hunger to return but only as part of an organised venture like this so there is strength in numbers.

Let me know when and where, and I'll be there.

PS our political differences must be set aside in this case, as anyone who discounts the Drifters as an existential threat to humanity is a fool. Our sectarianism is even more dangerous to us in the long term than the Drifters...

Thank you, you are signed up and on the notification list. Hopefully we'll gather more clues to prove what their motive is or perhaps a clearer understanding of their methods.

I too would like to know if they are concentrating on one empire. If they are then we need to know why. If their motives are to pick us off one by one then that is a fact all need to know. If they have some grievance against one empire that is also a fact all need to know.

Since observatories have been discovered in all four empires we need to discover if in unidentified worm holes with what appears to be manufactured wormholes with multiple entries/exits if the Drifters or Seekers are able to target them towards one empire's domain more than others.

Post my visit to Anoikis to scout the Drifter activity the Seekers in my surrounding systems have become far more aggressive. An independent capsuleer corp is routinely farming them for Antikythera and now they target anyone who comes close to the Jove observatory.

Because our policy is to shoot back when aggressed we have now collected enough Antikythera to construct both Entosis Link I and Entosis Link II which we will install on ships participating in our expedition to determine if they might have a useful purpose in hacking or salvaging a Hive.

Further tests on the reactions of Seekers and Drifters to an activated Entosis Link will be conducted as well.
