NOTHING has done anything to curb plex prices because it is stupid easy to make insane isk in game.

World economics. I used to buy 2 plexes per month from CCP to sell for isk in market. But the dollar increased 70% in value to my currency in the last 7 months. Result.. I cannot afford to make that anymore without feeling stupid.

A lot of people is in same poistion. That same effect makes a lot of people stop paying subscription and to try to go for plex based subscription. Result.. MORE demand and less offer.

Want lower plexe? By far the most important factor is a weaker dollar...

Buy a lot to create rarity and then sell at a higher price?
Except, where's the spike in purchases where somebody tries to create a stockpile? Volume's been steadily dropping all year, while prices have been rising. Total ISK spent on PLEX looks pretty flat too.

Why spike it when you can slowly buy them without leaving trace with spikes in the graphs? If you buy 10 PLEX a day for a month, you never really spiked it but at the end of the month, you still managed to "remove" 300 PLEX from circulation. Do that for a longer time and you can make a dent in the supply without spiking it.

You also happen to be at the mercy of any large sales CCP/amazon/GTC sellers might do...

Ok, fine - a few well heeled players have been increasing their PLEX purchases over months to stockpile. That means the real demand for PLEX has been dropping even faster. Once those people stop stockpiling you're going to have a major glut of PLEX being sold to people who have been priced out of the market.

Not a roller coaster I'd be looking forward to riding.
