with all this down time and the lack of response from CCP, how will this affect the newbies, will they get disheartened, How will it affect the revenue and lastly how will it affect the reputation of CCP for providing a cutting edge game, I think all of these issues will be seriously affected. Maybe CCP should put out an up to date response at regular time intervals. This would alleviate some of the bad publicity this extended period of downtime is generating.

LulzSec did a series of DDoS attacks on EVE and other online games a week or so after I started playing. This was shortly before Incarna.

I'm still playing.

You should have been around in the EARLY days back in 2003 - now those were SOME downtimes I can tell you...haha. You've no idea really. Give them a chance it'll be back up soon enough.
