Why making new faction/T2 ships when they can sell SKINs? :P

By the same token, why make customizable avatars that you can buy clothing for and then scrap WIS?

It's just the way things are, brother. It's like, why coat silver with gold when everyone will just buy the silver? That's capitalism for you.

So don't buy clothing and don't buy skins. That's how you affect change in a marketplace. Not by whining about it and then buying the stuff anyway.

I remember being so hyped for that to be implemented, but there have to be practical reasons it never was. I mean, it's one thing for ship data to say 'this ship is using x skin' and another to say 'this ship is using this skin with this pattern and this x/y alignment, oh and this primary colour, then this secondary colour... etc.' Multiply that by 2-3K for fleet fights and the server would probably just curl up in the corner and weep.

If that's the issue, it'd still be nice to have the skin visible by only the player though. (Secretly wanting a BABYMETAL themed rainbow Abaddon)

Ok, how this should be working...

The original skin system was a trial run, thats what it was sold as, to see if they could have the demand for it. And sure enough, there was enough demand.

The current system would be the next evolution, provide a service, amke some moeny, and in theory use that money to improve the tools for the next phase which would be to give us customizability at a price.

They can sell the stock ones, and have people pay xxx aurum to make there own and sell for isk. And if the price oint is good, lots of people will be doing that.. and i mean a lot. Hell Forza with is a racing game, there are people who spend hours custom painting cars to sell, its crazy.

Anyway, who knwos what they are actually going to do, but we will see. The price of skins needs to drop though
