If Planet I is 30.5 million miles farther from the sun than Planet II, then Planet III is 24.6 million miles farther than Planet I. When the total distances for these three planets from the sun is 190.6 million miles, how far away from the sun is Planet II?

Yep, this was a question asked... and nobody got it right... I only trained it to IV =(

It's obvious the answer is shut up dork.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

Planet II is 35 million miles from the sun.

Edit: Let x be the distance of Planet II. Then

x + 30.5 + x + x + 30.5 + 24.6 = 190.6
=> 3x = 105
x = 35

35 is the answer

EDIT:
Damn too slow :/

PII = x
PI = x + 30.5
PIII = x + 30.5 + 24.6
P I + P II + P III = 190.6

3x+30.5+30.5+24.6 = 190.6
3x+85,6 = 190.6
x = 35

i have a question

why is planet 1 further away than planet 2?

usually planets would be numbered from the closest to the furthest from their respective star

Not if you are approaching the sun from *outside* the solar system...

doesn't matter, all planets in eve are numbered from the center outward

and besides according to op the numbering is

[ Star ] [ Planet 2 ] [ Planet 1 ] [ Planet 3 ]

yeah.. 35 million miles. Planet numbers are just math talk and have nothing to do with actual placement in relation to the sun.
