Has anyone else experienced logging in, undocking and finding overheat damage which wasn't there when previously logged in? It's happened twice now, various mid slots both times. I've raised 2 bug thingies but still awaiting a response.

90% of the time with this it turns out I just pushed the button without noticing it during pve, was like "oh, ****" and turned it off after a couple cycles, and then forgot about it before I flew home and never hit repair all.

Sort of in the same vein as deploying your drones and finding out that they 'randomly' have hull damage.

Depends upon how much, there's a bell curve of performance/drunk, to a point I do my best flying drunk but it's a steep curve so I'm usually fairly close to the "OMGGETREKDPEWPEWPEeeeew.......ah shite" lineBig smile

Lol loving the sharing guys..

But I have similar with drones and shield damage. Every time I undock my drones have shield damage, even on ships I haven't used for a week.

the drones and shield damage is because they're adjusting to your skills.

Also i've seen rig heat damage before. No idea how that happened

Heat damage is applied to structure, Everything has structure HP, even rigs and modules.

Example: Medium Trimark Armor Pump I rig has 40 HP.

You can also take structure damage when below 25% armor. It is a function of armorUniformity (exact the same mechanic as shieldUniformity, but unlike for shields, there is no skill to prevent it).

Module and rig damage when structure tanking does exist. Most ships don't survive long enough for it to happen, as it is chance based (same as for shields).

given how often I overheat my ECM modules*, this happens to me regularly. usually it's because I logged off rather inebriated.

I hadn't realised that Alcohol and Eve were so closely linked. Perhaps I need to skill up in that area to improve my performance, bit of Dutch courage for those C4 wormholes or null sec.

I don't think that wine or clumsy fingers account for the heat damage so I'll just monitor it and wine, sorry whine, a bit more.

Thanks for the replies.

If I store my Procurer in the hangar at a POS then access it again it comes out with 25% shield damage every time. Doesn't happen to any other ship that I've tested it with.

I don't play EVE drunk any more, after I logged on trashed on New Year's Eve a couple years back, and wound up down tens of millions of ISK and with a bounty to match.

Tens of millions is pocket change to me now, but my wealth at the time was in the low ten figures rather than the present (very) low twelve figures.

I actually hadn't bountied myself - I'd gone into a trade hub and said "Next person to talk gets a 50m bounty". This was just after Retribution, so people didn't yet treat the system as a joke. Actually had about 30 seconds quiet before I had to make good on the threat - the person responded in kind on me.
