Just wondering. Personally, I like to "trophy hunt", taking down expensive T2/T3/pirate ships with a cheap, crappy T1, and overcoming insurmountable odds. What drives you to PVP?

This is possibly the best reason I have heard in ages.

Winning a fight that everyone says you have 'no right to win' because of superior tactics and knowledge is one of the best feelings you can get in any game.

I like PVP because I love spending hours creating the perfect fit and have it destroyed in seconds by a gatecamp :D

Obviously, there's a thrill that comes of winning out over other human opponents as opposed to mowing down NPC's animated by low quality AI.

Combine that with a science fiction lover's appreciation for the grim beauty of war amongst the stars, and you have your answer.

Whether it's two frigates circling each other a few kilometers apart, exchanging tiny bursts of death across the void in a frenzied dance, or a thousand ships of the line blotting out the stars with energy beams and missile trails as they conduct politics by other means at distances so great they can hardly see one another.

The shenanigans of pir8 and his buddies in Tama, being in an fw fleet where it's really obvious we have spies in comms, roaming out solo in my hookbill looking for 1v1 at plexes.

I usually end up dying but every once in a while we/I kill something spectacular that is worth ten times all the ships I have stocked and it all becomes worth it :P

Often too tired to roam anymore. For me I find more enjoyment sitting in fw plex and let pvp come to me. Killing is always cool in any ships

That search of ever elusive true solo pvp, where I generally end up exploding but sometimes don't

An endless and often fruitless search for 'The Shakes'.

yup.

PvP is the only reason I play any game, The Shakes in EVE are far more intense than a round of CoD Nuketown.

I'm not sure exactly who you think I'm supposed to be. I am and always have been a successful mercenary and general highsec PVPer and I have represented myself as one. I'm sorry that you find that upsetting I guess?

When I watch a video of native Canadians clubbing baby seals I don't feel bad for the baby seals for they are just participating in the circle of life. I do feel bad for clubbers of baby seals. There are so many better more interesting things to do on this planet. That one would choose baby seal clubbing out of all those wonderful and interesting things - that is what I feel sad about.

Sure sure, it's great to try new things, but to stay with something that bland and uninteresting is beyond being a crime, it's confining oneself to an unlocked prison cell - too afraid to enter the bright and exciting world.

How many baby seal skins does one need to claim being a success?
