Yesterday I was playing with all my settings set to "High" with no issues but today I can't get over 5 FPS even on low settings. Problem occurs with all my characters as soon as I select one, docked or undocked doesn't matter the frame rate drops to below 5FPS and stays there. Tried a handful of other games but they're all working fine maxed out, this is the only one with the issue.

Here's my dxdiag: http://1drv.ms/1H2Yu2j

Been at this all day would really appreciate some help or I don't think I'll be able to play anymore.

Still having this problem today. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, manually deleted everything under AppData\Local\CCP, deleted everything in the res cache, and started in safe mode with no improvement.

Any devs available to comment on how to proceed with troubleshooting? I'm a dev myself so I'm willing to go the extra mile to figure out what's going on here.

I would ask that you log into the game and submit a bug report using the F12 menu. Doing so submits not only system information, but also game logs that might be useful to identify any software problems.

Once you have a bug report submitted, please email me in-game with the bug report number, which you can get here.

That said, even though this issue is currently only happening with EVE, I will point out that overheating or impending hardware failure might lead to this kind of issue. Keep an eye out for other symptoms of such problems.

Thanks for your response!

I had already submitted a ticket earlier but didn't know how to look at it. Thanks to your link I saw the dev response that it's a Windows 10 issue and was related to permissions. I ran EVE as admin and it works. If you need more logs or data as you ramp up support for Windows 10 in the coming month I'm happy to provide more data.

I'll look up your ticket and check in with the QA folks who are working on Windows 10 validation. Thanks for the additional info!

Just for right now, for anyone else who runs across this issue or reads this, please be aware that we have not yet fully tested the EVE Online client against Windows 10. Until we do, your experience with Windows 10 and EVE may or may not be satisfactory. We're working on getting to a known stable point with it, but until then, thanks for your patience.

I have seen a report (not yours) about poor FPS, and this was due to a permissions issue where the game application was unable to access the users documents folder (specifically /Documents/EVE/logs/Gamelogs/) to write out what is happening in game. This could have performance impacts.

Can you please try to verify the permissions on your computer? Try running EVE as an administrator.

Can you maybe put an ETA somewhere, so we know when we can upgrade to 10?

I can't offer you an ETA on this, sorry.

I'm having the same problem with FPS. My PC has been great with all graphics settings on high - until about a week ago. Now they have to be set to low and if' I'm lucky, I'll get 20fps. Forget playing two clients. I tried running as an admin, and that had no effect.

I've just experienced this after a driver update in windows 10. EVE ran fine before I performed the driver update but post update the framerate dropped to 5fps, after trying various things running in admin was the only way to fix the issue, FYI running a AMD 7650m graphics card on this machine, the original drivers were from about a year ago, possibly longer (might have been updated by windows update).

I hope this sheds some light on the issue.

Just experienced the same thing having upgraded to Windows 10.

Massive, unplayable drops in fps (sub 1 frame per second). No difference made running in administrator mode (both the launcher and the client itself).

Just rolled back to Windows 8.1 (with a snarky note in the feedback box, natch) until this is under control.

[Edit: Uninstalling and reinstalling Nvidia Windows 10 drivers seems to have done the trick. They don't make this easy, do they?]

Same to me. Massive drop to 3.1 FPS. Starting EVE as administrator leads to 30 FPS, running in window then give more than 60 (limited to 60).

Thanks for this hint!

Fixed it for me, thank you very much.

This also seems to affect other games, f.e. Witcher 3 can't find my old save games...
