I always give my killrights away for free. Why would anyone pay for a killright?

Every so often, I'll go hang around hisec gank ops in a heavily-tanked cruiser hoping some of them will take potshots at me after their target goes down. You'd be amazed how many people will pay 20 million ISK for a killright on someone who is -10....

It's not what I would call a reliable income stream, but it is great for lulz.

I REALLY need to try that in my loveboat! Lol

Oh! Do I receive my insurance as suspect?

As long as you aren't CONCORDOKKEN, yes, you'll receive the insurance.

A lot of the common killright scammers set their killrights to be just above their full insurance cost. If they get away, they get the killright fee (on an alt) and keep their ship, if their ship dies they still get the killright fee and their ship is repaid via insurance.

It's quite clever actually.

Has anyone ever accidentally activated a kill right?

If so, how can this happen and/or be fixed?

How on earth do you accidentally activate a kill right?

Since direct answer don't seem to work, I'll try to get more info out of you so we might be able to build an answer more fitting of what you are looking for.

Can you describe what happened in detail so we know what exactly you mean by "by accident"?

If it didn't happen to you, are you looking for stories of people who really did it by accident to know what you should look out for to not make the same misstakes?

This was an experiment that ended just as I suspected.

I put a PLEX into holding by a trusted third party.

His instructions were simple, to wit:

Give the PLEX to the first person that offers any constructive response (not to exceed 25 posts) to this thread.

Then, I bet a close friend a PLEX that no one would offer a positive reply.

So thanks to you GD trolls I won a PLEX!!!

Did I miss out on a PLEX because she count her own posts?

If yes, can an ISD delete a few troll post in the thread?

They don't really need to be troll post. I just want the "trusted" 3rd party to show who he was and confirm he is to be trusted.

So you made a redundant troll thread just to prove GD is full of trolls. Okay, well done. Show us the contract.

The entire system is badly thought out. The person paying for the kill right is effectively buying the right to kill the person from the person that owns the kill right.

Obviously it is kind of counterproductive to charge money in 99% of cases because the person who owns the kill right actually wants someone to kill the person they have a kill right against.

Like all the pvp mechanics that came out of inferno it doesn't make very much sense until you remember that the deva don't actually play the game.

Why does it not make sense? It's basically a hunting permit trade system approved by the governing entity (CONCORD). The fact that a permit is issued raise more question to me than the availability of trading said permit but that another can of worms...
