[Survey] Drifter Engagement Details

Hello, Capsuleers.

My name is Varus Sakura, a researcher with the Signal Cartel. In collaboration with the 1420. Research Division, I have initiated a project which attempts to gather a large amount of detailed data regarding the circumstances of capsuleer engagements with Drifter forces.

It is my hope that once a sufficient sample size has been achieved, data analysis will reveal previously unrecognized patterns in Drifter behavior that might allow us to more accurately determine their intent. If this survey is successful, we will come away with new ideas on possible Drifter motivation and an increased ability to defend ourselves from Drifter aggression.

The final phase of the project outline I have submitted calls for a report to be made, which will detail summaries of the data and of my findings. The raw data will be released on a case-by-case basis, and only to reputable scientific communities.

The Signal Cartel's corporate mission involves the sharing of knowledge, freely and willingly, but it also requires that any action I take as a researcher is in the best interest of, and does not pose a threat to, the citizens of New Eden. This is the chief guideline by which I will make decisions regarding the distribution of data from the study.

Providence is being used as a play thing by Northern Coalition, Pandemic Legion, The Imperium, and soon Black Legion.

You have enemies at your door step and you alone aren't gonna be holding them back.

Your world is close to burning down, and you're first concern is being worried about political affiliations and rhetoric to reinforce your bias against Minmatar?

If Amarr is asking for help from all people, you need to take a good, hard look in the mirror and at the reality of your situation, and think about your choices and prejudice against whether you want to save your Empire.

Maybe you should have actually been present at the battle instead of just listening to news reports that didn't do adequate research if you're going to make claims about how it transpired, Tetua.

The CVA fleet did not reship. They warped out briefly to regroup and then returned to the battle immediately.

As Anslo had said, you have shown time and time again that help and opinions from others is less then welcome. I, in good conscience, have a difficult time as it is offering aid to people who say that I and my family should be slaves. I also have a difficult time lending aid to an empire that, once strong enough, will begin a campaign to enslave the cluster in a 'reclaiming'. So I will be standing by with Anslo on this one.

I appreciate and recognize that Drifter-related attacks have caused polarization among the empires.

With that being said, I hope that contributions to my study will happen regardless; it would be shameful to allow politics and grudges to impede discovery and scientific progress.

I never spoke ill of the Minmatar as a people. In fact i spent most of my career within the borders of their republic.
If you read the thread you might notice that my post directly succeeds that of an Ushra'kan.
They are the ones i call terorists.

You are the one demonstrating bias with this uninformed and rash response but nothing else should be expected from
a Scope affiliate.

And all you others hiding behind words, remember: If we fight the Drifters seperated, we all fall.
This is not about one nation or the other. This is about all of mankind. The empire has risen to it's defense.
What will you do? Join the next fleet engaging those horrors or sit nearby and loot the wrecks after the battle like
the vultures of P.I.R.A.T. and the Republic Defense Force did at Mekhios?

I commend this enterprise but caution the researchers not to be to liberal with the data they aquire.

I thank Mr. Sakura for doing the not-always-exciting but necessary work of collecting and analyzing the data he requests in his survey. I have happily submitted my data and I only wish I was able to give more comprehensive information, and I hope that others do the same.

As for the rest of this discussion, it is a shame that some of us let petty factionalism get in the way of threats to us all, and I am thankful that we have at least some adults in the room like Mr. Sakura. Let us hope that that will be enough.

This is not the time, nor the situation, to be waving your genitalia about in contests of pride and determination.

Amarr,

I understand your faith in God grants you strength and protection and you believe yourselves impregnable under His watch and favor. However, what I have read of God in the Scriptures suggests to me that He has not called you to be creatures of pride and foolishness; if this threat is something you cannot weather without severely weakening yourselves, the prudent course of action is to set aside your pride and accept help that is offered even if those offering it are of less than noble composure in doing so.

The rest of us, especially those that claim to be concerned about mankind as a whole, need to get over ourselves and not let the trivial disagreements and petty squabbles deter us from looking at the bigger picture. If your concern is for the greater humanity, then that includes the Amarr and it means overlooking slights.

This threat may be targeting the Amarr at this time but if you think that's where it will stop, then you're clearly not paying attention.

Stop being blind and stubborn at least long enough to save the cluster we're fighting over, hm? Then you can go back to throwing sand at each other in the sandbox.

I fully support your reasoning, you are right that people need to come together to help a threat that is now something we all will face either now or later. But consider the future while you consider the present. The Amarr will, not 'might' or 'could', 'WILL' restart the reclaiming in the future when they know they are strong enough to win. They will attack us, burn our homes and enslave our families. The drifters will weaken them and prevent this future from occurring. It is in all of our best interests to allow the Amarr to stand alone in this.
