Re-balance the office DCUs!

So there s a post for this but its locked so i cant bump it. The officer DCUs Are just about the most poinless mpd in the game. the other uselsss mods atleat have a niche to fill, But the officer DCUs Serve no purpose. If you are fittinga carrier and dont have enough cpu for 4-5 DCUs then you should NOT be flying a carrier.

I dont care what you give them instead. Be it an extra damage bonus or perhaps 2 extra drones. Just make them useful for someone other then a collector. Hell make them fiitable to a smaller calss of ship lieka domi! but right now the 2-5 bill you spend on one is just ********.

Anyone fitting one is ratting or structure bashing. Going officer is just saying "Hey i have more isk then brains!" Give these mods a perpose. Re-balance them so that they are appealing to people.

please ccp shw us that you value our input.

EDIT: For those less inclined to Carrier talk DCU stands for Drone control unit.

As far as I know DCU means damage control unit. In case you mean something different, please take the time to say so or answering will get difficult.

fixed. Drone control unit. The officer part of the title should have been clear enough since there are no officer damage controls.

Well right now officer DCUs are one of the rarist mods in the game. the other officer mods atleast serve a niche role but these are completely worthless. Like i stated earlier if you cant fit 4-5 DCUs on your carrier and still have fnctioning fit then you should not be in a carrier.

One should, of course, be able to muster a viable fit without resort to low fitting modules... That's how the ships' fitting numbers are arrived at after all.
However given the fittings involved is there the possibility that such modules open the door to fittings beyond the "standard"?

Drone Control Units received, as I recall, a last minute hike in their fittings after Sisi testing due to the large numbers of Domis fitted with them - I doubt that the fitting benefits of the officer mods are sufficient to allow such things but if they allow a niche fit which would otherwise be impossible then perhaps that's all they need?

Have you looked at the volume of these officer drone control units compared to the T1?

Makes carrying 5 of them in your fleet hanger much easier as space is abit limited when you have everything else in there.

Btw why there aren't any faction/officer damage control units in the game? Wont make a huge difference and bling on a km is always a good thing/sink.

Only the F-type one is anywhere near economic feasibility I'd think. (600m³ instead of 4k m³ for a current ~4b premium makes this questionable on even a super tho)

Drones Control Units (DCU) in all their forms are currently and always have been a cap ship thing and as far as I know they have always been limited to carriers and super carriers, so what does the Domi have to do with any of this?

The view from a player that does not fly cap ships.

Wondering how you can say a module that allows you one extra drone is worthless especially on a ship that is for all practical purposed dependent on it's drones for damage?

Or do you rate it as worthless because it's only advantage over the T1 variant is CPU?

Want/need more CPU for something else then spend ISK.
Do not want to spend or do not have the ISK then your fit may suffer.
Given these modules as a group and given that all them allow for controlling 1 additional drone they seem reasonably well balanced.

They are worthless because no one needs that cap in there carrier. I can fit all 5 DCUs and still have enough cpu to fit virtually any other fit i want. The only benefit they have as someone has pinted out is the volume. and since no one carrys around a ratting fit in there cargo that too is pointless. The t1 variant has a good niche role to fill. the officer variant should be able to fill that role better.

Only super carriers would even bother to fit a dcu onto there ship for pvp and the only thing that costs them is a high slot. CPU has never been an issue for carriers and drone control units. The officer units are wasted with this and the volume being the only benefits.

Only reason to have them is to save space in fleet hangar. There are other officer modules that are way less useful than the officer DCU.

Still seriously confused.
A module that allows you to have one extra drone, can be fit to ship as needed or use the slot for something else you need, and they have minimal impact on your CPU??
Seems these are far more than worthless unless the market for them is crap and these are the only thing you have drop when running sites.

The vanilla meta 1 varient is just as useful. These mods are only fittable to carriers and super carriers. further more they are only used for **** fit dps boat carrriers and ratting carriers outside of those two niche roles they arent used. the officer module has a smaller cargo need but no one is going to fly around with an officer ratting fit in here cargo hold. That would just signifiy stupidity.
