Unable to login, launcher is in offline mode - Anyone else?

Check your system clock on your computer, I had this before on my one computer and seen the date, year and time was wrong, (after my daughter played with it lol) Once I set the time and date to normal Offline mode went away. With some with bad motherboard batteries I can see this being a issue.

Interestingly my desktop shortcut for the launcher seemed to be pointing at a launcher installed in my appdata folder somewhere rather than the one on the EVE\Launcher folder...

Not sure of that's relevant to the cause of the issue or not but figured all info is good info.

The following fixed this issue for me:

Delete launcher folder, run repair.exe which will reinstall the launcher, launch new launcher to launch the game.

edit: there, now i cannot put any more instances of 'launch' in the previous sentence.

This worked for me.

But something bad went wrong in the world of Eve that CCP needs to prevent from happening in the future!

Sorry, would have reported back earlier but ran out of time. Yes, I resolved it by installing the latest eve client download. Not the actual game files but at least the installer. Will update the OP with this fix.

worked. not sure why necessary but in now. nothing else worked.

I had that issue for a short period of time. I re-installed the game and my launcher is back. However when I select the play button it scrolls to launching for a short period and then rolls back to play. Under processes is shows an exefile.exe *32. However that is it. I have run the repair option to no effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same problem. Reinstalling the launcher fixed it. I've never played any other game that broke its own installation so often.
