There was no way I ever would have been in the beta. I never played an MMO before Eve. Honestly, I never really played any other MMO. Yes, I'm sheltered. I've never had to endure the embarrassment of WoW or whatnot.

I did start in 04 before exodus was released (oh the good old Castor days). That's veteran enough for me.

I don't have my retail anymore, and my first incarnation got sold years ago but I remember gate bowling, getting blown up laying python mines on the gate in ammamake, stacking mwd's and ab's, caracal's with cruise missiles, and when Fatal of the dread guristas got killed and somehow everyone in eve ended up with parts of his brain in their hangar. Does that count?

Seeing that box in stores is actually what made me aware of EVE, but puchasing it online seemed like the prudent thing to do because there was no apparent benefit to purchasing a hard copy.
