I wish your faction navy (and CONCORD) would allow me that deep into Amarr Territory. I would have happily assisted the Drifters...

It was a glorious sight to behold.

How unfortunate that CONCORD wasn't in attendance when a massive, hostile fleet showed up in empire space.

Drifters are a force, similar to a star going super nova or a shower of asteroids.
We can not strike fear into their hearts.
We must destroy them, erradiate their existance, wipe the air from a planet to remove the hurricanes and we must do it decisively for they use our fallen to rebuild their numbers.

Old Earth stories speak of zombies, well these Drifters are mechanical puppet zombies.

"Why?" would you ask? Because we don't know anything about them! Because CONCORD thinks it will be wise to hunt those who want to help cluster instead of doing their job and protecting the people! All this security and what? Oh hey, it's just a fleet of 100 ships capable of blowing a carrier to bits with a single shot! Noce job, CONCORD, very well done indeed.

I bet you have some extra PLEXes for each Drifter and each crew member that died today because of your incompetence!

I noticed a significant CONCORD presence but no one can seem to show any evidence that CONCORD or the valiant DED lifted one finger to assist the people of Amarr or protect them from what is now clearly the threat posed by the Drifters.

I pray the Empress takes note of what has transpired.

I hope the personnel I donated to the rescue and recovery efforts were of some help.

This is indeed a very interesting point, they must be to busy waving their little sticks around and playing god to have noticed the hostile and highly dangerous fleet of 100 highly technologically advanced vessels fly right past them, and yet if I tried in a single vessel I'm sure they would notice right away.

CONCORD clearly do not care for the stability of the cluster nor the notion of peace as they were originally founded to do, albeit they are far more concerned with stifling research and making zealous threats to a degree that their more fanatical then the Blood Raiders are.

Could anyone present please elaborate on this statement? Did the 'Blinding flashes of light' appear to be a weapon of some sort?

It was hard to discern in the melee of battle, but some present said it was akin to the great super weapon the Empress used. I'm not a student of history but others could correct me, she used it in the same location against the Elders. Others thought is was the Drifters super weapons. However after it fired the shield integrity of the Drifters seemed significantly compromised. It only fired the once. Just before the Admiral's ship was destroyed by the Drifters.

It is widely now regarded that the Amarrian Navy remains a significant threat to the drifters because of this unknown weapon.

I would like to take the opportunity and congratulate the allied forces on opposing and finally defeating the Drifter armada. I grief and mourn for thousands of crew members that lives where lost.

As for CONCORD and there "specter" attitude to the enemy consider this. If You keep acting this way, soon there will be no space to police and no pilots to throw Your authority upon.

Interesting. To my understanding, the Empress's weapon was described to be a Blue-white ball of plasma, with arching electric currents' or something to that effect. It was said to hit one ship and spread outward. This sounds a little different, but if the shields of the Drifters were significantly weakened after this effect It does indeed sound like a weapon.

If any Capsuleer has camera drone footage of this event (specifically the weapon effect) I would be most interested in analyzing it.

While between Imperial Pharmacy and PIE Inc has been serious differences in past, we courageously fought together when those abominations showed up.

I had no doubt Lord Blake would have chased the drifters back to the hell that spawned them should they have struck me down.

I don't believe I was on the field to witness the "blinding flashes of light", but I will check my footage again to make sure.

Regardless, you are correct - The Isogen-5 Abbadon was, essentially, a giant ship-sized weapon - that was its sole function. Upon firing, there was reportedly a blinding white (or blue-white) beam emitted from the front of the ship, and as it hit its first target, it arced between most/all of the ships in the Elder fleet. The weapon was so strong it crippled the Abbadon around which it was built, with (now Empress) Jamyl exhausted afterward; most, if not all, of the Abbadon's crew were killed.

However, more interesting is what the original superweapon reportedly did - it caused the shields of the affected ships to begin pushing back against the ship, essentially crushing them with the force of their own shields.

And now we have reports of a blinding white-blue flash, and Drifter battleships, known for their incredibly strong double shield defenses, seem to be easier to break. Hmm...

Not to mention, the Drifters' own "Mini-Doomsday" beam is also a blue-white beam, emitted from the front of the ship, unlike any other weapon we've seen before ... Well, except for one.

OOC: This is based on the Empyrean Age novel, but please correct me if my memory/facts are skewed here...

I didn't see any white, blinding flashes of light.

I can't help but think that if the Empress used her superweapon, she'd have been a bit more obvious about it. She wasn't in local. No ship or unusual object was sighted.

There were many people taking pictures and videos of the event. It would be odd if none of them caught it.

Might there be another explanation? The super weapon was originally discharged in the location. Could there have been some residual effect that weakened the drifter ships when they warped to the same location, especially if there may be some link between the technology used to power their own super weapon?

I am not normally a religious person but it would be a great coincidence indeed if the choice of location for the summit itself held the key to destroying drifter forces.

Interesting theory, some kind of residue from the initial weapon firing effectively shorting out the Drifter shield systems.

From what we've witnessed so far I think the Amarr need to prepare for further attacks, I doubt very much that the 100 battleships was the entire Drifter battle fleet. Considering how they have learned and adapted from previous encounters this could simply make them more cunning and dangerous pilots.

The only way we could find that out would be to engage them there again to see if the effects are the same.

The strength of the Empire has always been the commitment, integrity, and unity of the faithful. In that sense the greatest weapon the Empress could ever wield was present that day.

I was present and fighting through the entire engagement. No blinding flashes were seen, other than the flashes of warp drives as combatants entered the fray. I did see the Drifters attempt to destroy the Faithful with their weapons, which seemed to be more green-white in color.

The Empire does not need superweapons. We have the numbers and will to fight, as well as God backing our righteous cause.

I again Thank His Eminence Cardinal Dex for his gracious invitation for me and my staff to attend the event. It was by fate only that a scheduled GALNET video broadcast kept me sequestered away from the celebrations, to which I have made known my congratulations for Imperial Dreams 12 year anniversary.

Upon hearing of the appealing and brash Drifter Invasion after the fact I took note via all intel channels of all those that arose to the defense of the Golden Amarr Empire. Although many Sarumites are opposed to my legal inquisitions and queries, I nonetheless hold those who fight for the blessed People of Amarr in high esteem.

The time for prayer is nye, for it is time for less prayer, and more action.

My excuse for not attending is by far weak... but Jamyl's lack of presence or noting what has transpired is yet again another matter of grave concern and yet I call to those that follow blindly to question the visions in your mind. What is she thinking? What has she caused you to think? The threat is real and present and we need true leadership for the True Amarr.

It's Time.

Blessings to the fighters and the 'real' protectors of Amarr.
