[ALXVP] Origin will Offer Refuge to Project Scientists

Hello fellow capsuleers, friends, enemies, and baseliner readers all,

By now we have all heard of the unfortunate demise of Hilen Tukoss and the successful recovery of his remains by an independent scientific expedition. I aplaud the work of these capsuleer scientists and explorers in managing to penetrate so far into the lair of the drifters, to find the remains of a man I thought the world of. Hilen Tukoss was an example of everything we should aspire to be. Driven by something stronger then nationalism or desire for personal gain, Hilen was a true visionary, and sought to make the world into a better place. He will be fondly remembered, and there truly is one star less in the sky with his passing.

But the story doesn't end there, because of course we've all heard of the attempts at bullying and coercion on the part of Odo Korachi. Concord and the DED are demanding the relinquishment of Hilen's remains on pains of losing all access to highsec and a bounty high enough to send half the known universe after them. These actions are unjust and petty in the extreme.

We in Origin know well the pains of being cast out of highsec, of being unwelcome in the realms of New Eden. Thus in Origin we have made a home for outcasts and wayward souls. On behalf of the Origin Colonial Authority and the people of Origin, through the power extended to me by the Exodus Charter, I would be honoured to welcome any and all of the expedition members currently being threatened by CONCORD to Origin for as long as they should need safe haven. We will grant to you all the protections and privileges afforded to a citizen of the system, for as long as you chose to make it a home. I can understand a desire not to leave Known Space, and all those you know, but the fact stands that you may become highly targeted, and your loved ones may be put at risk merely by their associations with you. These people will also be welcome if you wish to bring them along.

This is a difficult thing to propose, to leave Known Space, but know that if you should chose that course it would be not as an act of submission but of defiance, saying "No, I will not bow" to CONCORD and their regime. Let them make their threats and see how truly feeble their reach is. Even if you yourself would like to remain in Known Space, if you have someone or someones that you feel would be put at risk by your actions, you can send them to Origin ahead of you, and we will protect them and prevent them from being used as leverage against you.

These are dark days for us all, we must band together if we wish to shine bright enough to drive away the storms,

Ad Astra Per Aspera,

They don't need a new home. They need this crap resolved so they can be in the homes they love.

If I had a 50 PLEX bounty on my head, I would be very wary of people suddenly offering me shelter.

Also, hands off Scherezad-haani. She's ours!

Last time I saw Riordan in person, she was behaving rather offending and insulting. I wouldn't trust her offers.
I believe CONCORD would be happy to investigate what exactly happens in this "Origin".

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

See? You already have the proper mindset for Anoikis! Do keep nurturing that tingling sense of paranoia, it will serve you well and prove invaluable when on the hunt or while being hunted.

I am also a human, straggling between the present world... and our future. I am a regulator, a coordinator, one who is meant to guide the way.

while my opinion is likely not held in high regard i'm familiar with scherezad and most of the work A'J has been doing since its inception. i can assure you if they decide to come to Origin we will do everything in our power to protect them from those who think about claiming the bounty even if they were members of our own corporation. i may not be blindly loyal to the state but i do retain sense of honor regardless. Ms. Kim should know better than to doubt my word and honor as this proposal has my full support.

Kim if you have any questions to what origin is like for its people do contact me and ask them directly rather than grandstanding on past mistakes of others.

This is absolutely true, they shouldn't need to have their lives upended by this, but the fact is, they are. If they find the homes they love impossible to remain in, Origin can at least offer them sanctuary until the worst of the storm blows over. Its not an ideal solution, but knowing you have somewhere to go if worst comes to worst is at least a step in the right direction.

As an alternative, my previous offer of sanctuary (made prior to threats and bounties) in Curse still stands. If Origin isn't to your liking, consider a little slice of Heaven where CONCORD dares not go. The Cartel has held these systems for decades and we're not going anywhere anytime soon.

Please feel free to contact me privately...or not.

As I haven't addressed this yet, I would like to say this: thank you, Ms. Riordan, for the offer of sanctuary! We received a goodly number of notes and offers of support once the DED publicized its unprecedented bounty, and were unable to properly respond to them all.

Fortunately, events took an unexpected turn as pilot Raholan indeed surrendered Tukoss's biomass, and we were not forced to enact any evacuation of materials or personnel.

Still, should such a circumstance be encountered again, know that you'll be on the short list of parties we'll contact.

While the jury is still out on if we should all band together to support a foolish campaign against a still ill-defined Drifter threat, I was encouraged to see the diversity of support for capsuleers threatened by the heavy hand of CONCORD.

Capsuleers of all stripes including this OP stood ready to assist against the tremendous power of CONCORD, it was one of the better moments in recent history in the cluster, cheers to all who exhibited both integrity and backbone!
