Isn't that kind of an oxymoron?

Who came up with that?

That would probably have been a more appropriate catch phrase.

Could've made it a play on words, as well, given the perceived difficulty of EVE.

Eve is many things. Hard science fiction it is not.

And thank god for that.

I am a physicist and my first attempt at a video game was hard science fiction. It was boring, lame and stupid.

A little imagination goes a long way. Yes even the kerbles have some imagination.

AKA the scientist.

Death and Glory!

Well fun is also good.

I guess it's kinda difficult to call it hard science fiction, but it is moreso than a lot of others.

I mean its a hell of a lot harder than Star Wars, which is pretty much just space fantasy.

Life is a little bit science fiction.

For example most of our bodies isn't us. It's some amalgam of bacterias and so on that hitch a ride with us, or we hitch a ride with them.

And then if we look a little deeper we find out that we don't even know what sort of life that bacteria etc. is., biological dark matter is the term for it.

Makes me wonder if we are really running our lives.

There you go.

Real life science fiction. Happening right now, inside you.

Anyone bother to think about the fact that space is a vacuum, yet you can hear explosions and weapons and mods and stuff, despite the fact there is no noise in real space.

Not to mention the space wind. Really it sounds like we are underwater.

It's all perfectly explainable.

One of the first things I ever thought about, but the lore actually does explain it. The Pod tech synthesizes sounds based on the environmental expectation. This was to give the pilot more situational awareness, as well as keep him from going crazy.

I'd place eve around the 3 mark (as long as you accept that planets actually orbit, and that being stuck in one place is just a game thing)

Woo! CSM XI!

If you read the chronicles it explains that your camera drones make the sounds for you to give you a sense of awareness

ShockedShockedShockedBut, I thought we were. This isn't a submarine game? What the hell have I been playing all these years!?

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
