Thank you for this. I know I was very critical of the original announcement that there would be no streaming of the first weekend. I think this is the perfect way to do it without burning your staff out.

We want to get the player base involved in this as it's always more fun. We have some things in the works which have been approved with the blessing from LogiBro but I don't want to spoil it quite yet as we still haven't worked out all the details. Keep an eye out for posts from ISD members regarding opportunities that might come up. ISD Dorrim Barstorlode might be posting some things in other places but this is the main thread that I'll be focusing on for answering questions.

An in-game channel called ISDATXIII has been created in-game for those who wish to join. Don't really expect it to be populated much right now (i'm sure it will be closer we get to AT) but it's there for those who want to chill in it. I might chat every once and awhile in it.

The ISD volunteers are indeed not only extremely helpful. They have a cheerful and professional attitude, but also are a very nice bunch of people. In the coming months I plan to have a series of updates (probably as dev blogs) which will give an overview of the absolutely incredible ISD volunteers and their fantastic work.

When we first mentioned that CCP cannot stream the first weekend of the Alliance Tournament, I received more or less immediately inquiries from ISD (thanks Athechu!) if they could help out here. Pretty epic!

First of all, thanks ISD!!! It would be sad not being able to watch AT.

Do believe it's not about flying people over or having the time to organize it all. The problem is COST. MONEY. Let's not talk about Iceland's financial crisis (believe me, I'm a broker and know a bit about it) so I'll be brief.

CCP guys are smart. Somebody should probably brainstorming about a way to monetize more without changing the game basics. My idea to CCP is to create a long tournament that goes months long but it costs US$ to enter. That's a profit right there. Not to be expensive, but as long people pays to enter they know they will be paid when they win. And also Plex with the money, let's not give ships yet. I can talk about 100+ details, but I'll be brief (I promised).

Second idea to monetize is create a system like DOTA. Let the players who love the game sponsor it a little and direct this money to AT championship only. Better studios, larger table and TECH with it.

First year, first idea would be a lot more profitable. For the years in advance, they both could help a lot.

Partner with AVGL, AGL, EGL and other professional gaming leagues and make it like NEO, except with fewer teams. It would make EVE way more knowable in gaming, thus bringing more players.

Love EVE, love CCP. Like I said I bet somebody is thinking about it.

Love to help anyway I can. Hope anybody from CCP reads it.
