I'm pretty new to EVE and really starting to like the game, I've gotten myself an Ore Frigate and gathering ore and selling, I know it's slow going, just wondering if there is a quicker way to gather more ISK

Lots.
Almost all of them better than mining, what are you interested in doing?

Anything really. as long as my rookie ship does not die each and every time I try and do a mission.

Here is a chart of some of the things you can look into, it's far from being comprehensive.

ingame press F12

this will let find the Career Agents
Then go see Sister Alitura in Arnon

nb missioning is only slightly less boring than mining (ymmv)

to make isk whilst not logged in and playing ...

- goto the eve store, buy plex, log in, sell plex ingame
- * look up "research agents"
- read about "Planetary Interaction"

* a while back CCP changed datacore researching, FW is a cheaper way of acquiring them,.

Good, do all of the career missions, they should give you some start up isk , skillbooks and ships.

Once through you can move on to the sisters of eve epic arc which should shower you with isk ( compared with what you're currently making ) .

Talk to people in local whilst doing this, make friends, do not trust them with your stuff.

If you want to "make ISK offline" you will need to get involved in industry. I sold roughly 250 million on the market overnight - while I was sleeping - and 50-60 million of that will be profit. I'll probably sell close to that much through the day - while I am at work. Other characters I own are manufacturing product or inventing blueprints at the same time. Once you understand how the system works you can set your price and wait for the market to come to you - very low maintenance. A nice little cash cow to finance your other activity in Eve.

You can't do this overnight - industry is skill intensive and there is a lot that you can only learn by doing but I was consistently earning several billion ISK per month by my first anniversary in Eve.

A primer to get started: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Industry_Overview

Eve university is one of the best sources of information on the game and they keep it reasonably up to date. Be wary of any information source that is more than a year old - Eve industry has undergone a complete overhaul in the past year.

Don't try to figure out what can earn you good isk and then do that. Figure out what you like doing and then earn isk doing that. You can earn isk doing pretty much anything in game.

I suggest you try lots of different things and stick with what you find to be fun.

Some things that you could try that I can think of off the top of my head are:
-exploration
-Faction Warfare
-Ganking
-belt ratting
-mission intrusion
-cosmic anomalies
-gate camping
-Complexs
-Station Trading
-Wormhole combat sites
-interregional trade
-manufacturing
-mercenary work
-mission running
-wormhole cleaning

The Gallente ones can actually run L1 and some L2 missions pretty easily, 2x Light Drone is OP.

- POCOs / Planet Interaction
- POS warfare
- Scamming
- Services (third party services). For example, I let you use my mumble server and you give me X isk. Read the EULA pretty close when it comes this though.
- Services that you think someone would use in game.

There's numerous ways to make ISK faster than Venture mining.

Getting out of Hi-Sec and into a good player corporation should be high on your list of priorities. All of the major alliances have a newbro wing. KarmaFleet (The Imperium/CFC) and Pandemic Hoard (the newbro wing of Pandemic Legion) to name just two.

Getting access to secure space means you can start up some Planetary Interaction chains that basically provide a smallish, but consistent, income.

The other main benefits of joining such a corporation may include, but is not limited to: Ship Replacement Programs, free skillbooks and learning implants, regular fleet opportunities, a cadre of instant friends to help you out.

Um -- While research agents are passive income, they are very skill intensive and the payout is minimal these days. It is definitely not a newbee thing to do. Pi however doesnt require much of a time/skill investment to do. As for trading, its not very passive since you have to deal with the .01 isk issue.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

naw, once the .01 iskers realize that you'll drop your price by 1k isk rather than play their game they tend to leave your stuff alone. (at least that's been my experience)
