I feel like the DDA nerf might be a little out of place but that's up to you guys. I like the missile changes and hope they revive some interest in missile boats.

+1 for HM Buff
+1 for Missile TEs
-1 for DDA nerf

So, overall +1

Throw a hatchet at the Ishtar please and stop this piecemeal move of trying to tweak this battleship weapon platform cruiser.

You've tried three times nerfing this thing and now instead of attacking the direct issue of ishtars, the dronebay, sentry bonuses, and multiple flights, you change out it's slot layout?

This is comical the lengths you are going to address the Ishtar without addressing the Ishtar.

Yaay!!!!

Could the new missile modules get seeded please, thanks.

It's a little hard to evaluate the new missile modules when they still haven't been seeded on the test server for us to experiment with, can we expect to see those soon? I've a few new ships that I want to test the viability of.

I'd also like to re-iterate the point I made in the Ishtar thread, regarding how it is the only sub-battleship platform which gets a damage projection and application bonus to sentries, which is, as many others have agreed, the real problem with the Ishtar. Let it use sentries, sure, that's part of the flavour of drone boats. Be very wary however, of giving them range bonuses: the Ishtar effectively out-ranges every other cruiser-class platform in the game given it's applicable DPS. HM Cerbs or the like can match the range, but can't touch the Ishtar's applied DPS.

Sorry about the delay, just sorting out the new module seeding now. They will be available in the Syndicate region very soon, and in all other regions after the next reboot.

You guys are missing the complete point with the Ishtar.

It's very simple:

  • Remove the Sentry Bonuses.
  • Decrease the effectiveness of Drone Link Augmentors
  • Repurpose the Ishtar as a heavy-drone bonused armor hull for medium ranges.

  • All these tiny tweaks don't take the problem away, get rid of sentry bonuses and they still are solid ships but with less range projection.

Missing the point with the Ishtar nerf yet again. Let me repeat myself: the Ishtar is OP becuase it has a tripple damage/application/projection bonus. Remove the projection bonus from it and give back full damage (give the same treatment to the VNI).
Same goes for the Dominix although in this case its less pronounced as Battleships in general are used less. It still shouldnt have the tracking bonus, but should keep the optimal range bonus. Its already strong enough bonus to make the ship good in and on itself as it applies flat to ALL drones. Same treatment for the Eos.
Further nerfing and nerfing AROUND the core problem will leave us with a broken ship on the level of a Hurricane at some point instead of balancing it.

DDA nerf is fine since drones aren't just OP on the Ishtar. Also it's a slight reduction. Way to take a reserved step on changes.

Fleet warp nerf is distilled cancer. Way to kill a mosquito with a sledgehammer. Seriously not pleased about that, especially since your propagation problems haven't been fixed. Honestly fixing propagation should be a prerequisite for making these changes. That or just make it so ship signatures can't be bookmarked at all and then just let FCs warp fleet to all bookmarks. Easy fix.

    +1 for Cerb remodel

    +1 for missile changes

Fleet warp changes are not in Aegis anymore. Please see this devblog by CCP Larrikin.

Visually, I feel as if the new missile modules and BCU's should stay the same/moderately changed.

On note for the missiles, will TD's effect missiles or should there be another new module?

Still no new explosions effect and new ship engines effect? Much sadness Sad

About the icons (about what is relevant to Aegis, and other icon stuff while we are at it):

    • Ballistic control system should stay with the old icon
    • Missile computers and enhancers... honestly, this thing is ugly but if you want to keep it, at least don't apply it to the BCU. It will make things easier if completely different items have completely different icons.
    • The entosis link icon is too small! Look at the poor thing compared to basically every other module icon. A shame! :)
    • Magnetic Field Stabs should be tinted Green, just like you tinted blue the hull repairers.
    • Heat Sinks should be tinted Red.
    • ECM lowslot thingies to boost ECM power should be tinted Blue.
    • Gyrostabs should stay orange like the icon currently is.
    • ECCMs should have a different icon than Sensor boosters. Again, if you don't have the time to create a new icon, change the color :)

    I got better idea.

How about you add gun Bay to every other ships.
Small gun is 5m3, med is 10m3, large is 25m3

Let other ships swap their guns accordingly to situation.

And give every hacs bonus to all gun sizes. Also optimal range bonus. This will allow other hac to get on Ishtar level because they will finally have bs level weapon bonus.

Or how about remove goddamn sentry bonus on Ishtar. And replace optimal range with drones velocity bonus instead.

Why change the BCU icon? It makes no sense.

The dmg mod for turrets is a picture of a generic turret...the drone dmg amp is a pic of drones...and the old BCU is, you guessed it, a picture of a launcher. This scheme makes sense. It is in no way broken

The same scheme follows for the "Tracking Computers"....the little radar dish thing just doesn't fit the currently well functioning theme.

Again, change for change sake with no regard for the function of the form.

+1 for keeping the old BCU icon; it's faster to distinguish between a damage & application module that way.

    Seconded

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

This. Sentry drones should be relegated to Battlecruisers, Battleships and Capital Ships.

  • Definitely much sadness. +1 on the old BCU icon. Have the new modules been seeded everywhere else yet?

Some cool new changes :) I agree with the first post though, DDA changes are bad and unnecessary. It's about time to stop trying to fix stuff that isn't broken (for example the fleet warp changes), the swinging of the nerf bat is getting a bit out of hand.

The minmatar BS change should be pretty sweet :)
