Hello all,
Just wanted to ask the community out there about their experiences with headsets and Eve Voice..
I normally use some old mic I had left over from a long time ago. It is just some old desk mic that worked pretty good, but sometimes people said the audio would break-up. I never thought much of it cause I have my chat button mapped to the center button on my mouse and I thought it was just from me not pushing the button down fully.

I recently decided to go out and get a headset so I dont disturb anyone sleeping during late nights and such. I bought the Tte SPORTS SHOCK headset and I actually like the way it feels. I was nervous I could only stand to wear them for short periods.

Now that I am using this headset for the first time, my mic cuts out and people say that they cannot understand me due to choppy audio. When I plug in the desk mic, it still does not work properly until I reboot. After that, the headset works for about 30 mins then starts to malfunction...

I was wondering what headsets people are using and if they have mic issues and if their headset came with a driver or was it plug and play..

Cheers !!

A friend and I used eve-voice for fleeting, i used a cheap mic and my aftermarket speakers. No cutout for either of us so the problem may be at your end.

Headsets made my ears hot..tossed both i tried so no help to you there.

Adding one turd to the litterbox that is Eve .....my goal.

Ha Ha.... Hot Ears... I honestly thought those were the problems I was going to have too, hurting ears, hot ears, sweaty ears etc.. but it is all good with these. I am honestly impressed with them, dispite the mic issue.

I think the issue is I am plugging this headset into the front panel of my PC, but my question is if people used drivers for their headset or not...

I have a $30 Plantronics headset with the band that goes across the back of the head instead of over the top. Works nicely, and doesn't mess with the hair. It uses the audio plugins (speaker and mic) on the front of my case, so it doesn't use drivers at all.

I've been playing EVE for over three years on three different computers -- two Windows machines (one Vista and one Win7) and one Mac with Snow Leopard. Used the built-in audio (no separate sound card) and had no problems with EVE Voice whatsoever on any of the three. On the older Vista machine, the sound started cutting out and I traced the problem to the front audio plugins. I plugged the headset into the audio plugins on the back of the case and it has worked flawlessly since. The other Windows machine still works fine with the headset plugged into the front panel.

Drivers can make a huge difference. Make sure you have the newest drivers for your audio, whether you use the built-in audio or a separate sound card. Mine uses Realtek audio, so I get them from the Realtek web site.

Also, try using a different voice activation key. Maybe having it mapped to your mouse isn't working right. I use the right Shift key for voice.

i have been using head sets for some time and so far the expensive ones do seem to fitt better but the standard usb call center head sets work well and cheap too Shocked

Yeah, I checked all my "sound card" drivers and they check out fine. The drivers I was asking about were drivers for the headset itself. The packaging for the headset did not come with drivers, but when I go to the website for the headphones there are drivers there... thought it was weird. And was wondering if others installed headset drivers...

I bet if I only use the back panel of my PC for the headset it will work fine as well... I am guessing it is an issue with the front panel connections.
