Is it worth it to loot (with MTU) on level 4 missions?

Anyway to get salvage drones to automatically salvage wrecks without having to target each wreck and send them?

Yes, don't target. Wreck and tell them to salvage. I.e do it before you target a wreck or target your mtu/something you can lock that's not a wreck withing your control range.

Bookmark each room, abandon wrecks, contract BM's to Pro Synergy.

They pay out either 40 or 60% of loot/salvage value. If you are clearing non faction missions this is a good way to pick up some extra ISK for little effort, without worrying about looting/salvaging/managing MTU's.

First week I used them I ran maybe 15 missions, all non-faction (so less valuable loot because no tags), and my wallet got a 45M ISK bump at the end of the week from the wrecks I contracted to them.

Two caveats - most people decline empire faction missions because they nuke your standards but if you do run them you need to loot because much of the ISK comes from tag drops as empire NPCs don't have bounties. Several missions throw out 20-40M ISK in tags alone.

Also if you are running a mission like Dread Pirate Scarlet or the Damsel, the first which always drops an 8M implant and the second which potentially drops a 60-70M implant; it is advisable to grab that.

best part about MTU is that it automatically loots everything inside 2500m, meaning I don't have to open and close every damn wreck.

that said most loot is garbage and I tend to collect very little. get bored of sitting around to loot a metal scrap, or mod worth nothing.

This sounds interesting. So I could bring one in my Noctis, drop salvage drones and MTU and all I have to do is pull the wrecks? Been away 2 years, the MTU is new to me.

You could use the Noctis to speed up the wreck-pulling if you wanted to (the MTU tractors them in one at a time). If you're bringing a Noctis, you can also salvage much faster than the drones can.

exactly, plus the MTU will pull one extra wreck. Usually I start with the wrecks farthest away in a noctis, and run a 5/3 split of tractors/salvagers, as with skills and salvage rigs the salvagers work much faster than the tractors. the MTU and salvage drones should probably about even each other out.

I dual box Epic arcs so for me it's more efficient to just pull the wrecks while the drones do the salvaging and I can work on the next missions with my main while the salvage op is in progress. Any extra bit of automation helps this process.

right when dual boxing it changes a little, a noctis will easily tractor and salvage faster than a combat ship can generate wrecks. Using drones slows it down and gives you one less thing to do :p

I bring a MTU along when doing lvl 4 missions in my Marauder.
I deploy it along with bastion and then salvage while shooting things up.
