Lack of content

Was in a discussion with some previous and current eve players i know. Most of them has quit, or is about to quit, mostly due to lack of content.

It made me think abit... They are in some ways correct, EVE hasnt come up with New content that has incouraged others to reactivate their accounts or keep playing. There is no New content that makes me, or those i spoke with, wanna spend more time on EVE.
And i do see that thru players i know ingame, keeps reducing their time on EVE, mainly it gives them no more "happy-juice" to keep playing.

So is it that EVE dont gives us more content, or is it me and those that over time has come to the conclusion that EVE actually has become borring?

Also, has EVE more and more been swinging into being more and more a game for mainly pvp players? A friend of mine, was a big time manufacturer and he said, he dont have the time to keep repeating the same actions over and over again, it gave him no more pleasure.

Something is for sure wrong, cuz it is not just me....

Would appreciate some pro's and con's on this.

EVE's content comes from the interactions between players. BRAVE coups. GSF kicking corps. PL rampages. Jita market manipulations. The enjoyment of the game, its content, does not come from shooting red NPC rats. (Although lately CCP has been doing a good job of expanding the EVE storyline via the Drifters thread.) If all I ever did was missioning or mining on my own, yeah, it would get quite repetitive and dull. But I interact a lot with the other players around me, both friendly and hostile, so one day is never like another.

Many will day make your own content, but the truth is there is tons of content. Are you telling me you've run every mission, explored every complex, invented every tech II, destroyed your enemies armada, trade,,FW, scam, pirated, mined, sleepers, drifters, etc, etc, etc...
Go make your own content then. Start a war Dec on the goons... Very exciting...
And the obligatory can I haz your stuff?

You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friends nose. Unless you podded them...and collected their corpse.

It was actually discussed during the chat with my fellow EVE friends, but in all its just a extension of old content.

So what do you want then?
You say new content is needed, but give no suggestions as to what said content might be?

What would be new enough not to be considered "an extension of old content"

Ponies in space?

Phoenix Wing is recruiting a handfull skilled pilots for Null/LowSec PVP!

you are being boring in eve,not eve being boring.

In all, i cant say what New content should be, or for that matter, what i should hope it could be, but i do see players leaving the game more frequently than before. And i do see that the New additions are great for the hardcore players, but it dont bring back the more laidback players.

Typically, EVE gives us the tools (ships) and otherwise the devs let US create the content (via PVP). They actively avoid creating themepark encounters for us because that's a lot of work to add new stuff every 3 months, for no extra profit (still the same playerbase). It's a lot more cost-effective for them to add a bunch of new ships and let us shoot each other till we're bored.

Look at what's been added with each expansion, and you'll see this trend. You'll also see the amount of work that's "too much" for CCP, a few examples being more than one room for Capt. Quarters, a system that lets you color more than a ship at a time, balancing pass for more than the 4-8 ships that are in a "class" (T1 cruisers f.ex.), more than 1 outfit with 4 color variations for the NEX Store, petition response time faster than 2 weeks.

20 or so devs is considered a small game developer, and this is typical of the output they're capable of.

CCP dont make content we the players do.

Every single memorable event in the games history was made by the players and the big events in EVE make headlines around the world. No PvE spoonfed content can ever compare.

I respect Your opinion to disagree on this, but i cant deny the fact that the Group of players ive spoken with have an different opinion. The "New" content aspire many players, but not all....

And that states that EVE is becoming more and more a game for pvp players and not for those that dont like pvp or the endless repeating cycles of pve.

Yes, Eve is dying still.

If you are concerned that most of the content players are creating for each other is pvp, then go create some pve content for yourself and others.

“Becoming” is probably by far the least accurate word to use in that instance.
