POS tear down question

I just moved into a new WH and I am bashing down a few old offline POS. After I pop the tower do I have to remove each module myself or will they despawn after awhile with no tower left for them.

iirc you can unanchor them and remove them. i *think* they might fall under the 30 day space garbage goes away thing after the pos is gone but i'm not 100% sure. Best to just unanchor all the mods (unless they are incapped) and sell them for isk

You can unanchor if they have no structure damage.

So if any of the modules were also damaged into structure, they can be repped with remote hull reps and then unanchored.

If no structure damage, they can be unanchored as is.

You can not unanchor stuff that does not belong to you or your corp.
However, once the tower is removed they will be unanchored and you can scoop them if undamaged. Might have to rep some modules.

yeah finding large "deathstar setup" offline pos can be good to "salvage" if all mods are intact. but you cant make profit from removing dead towers unless they have faction ewar/batteries which are worth something

and no if you kill tower without touching modules they will NEVER despawn unless someone destroy them or scoop them

Thanks for moving this here, you have scared away that Dev CCP Darwin. The only Dev's that posts we see are those crazy dev blogs that turn into 50-100 pages with no dev responses.

Do we scare devs this much?

They stay anchored,

You can unanchor them even if they are not your corp's, Provided the tower is no longer there.

The cavet, you need starbase config to steal them, They also have to have no damage. (not sure if low shields count) but if they are incapped they stay.

Best I can figure garbage collection dose not apply. On the plus side no one can anchor a new tower till the incapped mods are removed.

Or you try to take down your pos and it won't let you take the tower because there's still crystals in the guns but you can't take them out because it's bugged to hell so you have to file a stuck petition, twiddle your thumbs hoping nobody notices you waiting for the nice GM to save your butt.

POS are so convoluted most people here have gotten the mechanics only partially right.

-POS Modules never despawn, whether the tower is there or not.
-You must kill the offline stick to unanchor the mods, and anyone can unanchor the modules after the tower is gone.
-Any incapacitated modules must be either killed or repping up; They are easier to kill when the tower is gone as they no longer have 99% structure resists, and they only have 100k Hull HP
