When will repair.exe work again?

It is rather difficult to boycott the Launcher now.

I have resorted to running it minimised for patching.
Then I have to mess about killing the process because it hangs a lot. It is slower and far more annoying.

CCP 2015: How many ways can we annoy our players before they quit?

- Monochrome Neocom icons (can easily have a colourful toggle option)
- Overview icons (passed through CSM was told it was a rough design then came out exactly as planned)
- Washed out ship skins (probably a ploy to get more people buying AUR stuff (thank you for at least allowing us to turn off the skins))
- Washed out ship / drone item icons.
- Ugly UI themes
- Slower, buggier "download on demand" that everyone just takes everything anyway.
- Fozzie SOV rubbish.
- new map that will probably still hog resources and be a scanning nuisance.

.... and forced to run the Launcher.
This is quite a few straws on this camel's back. P

I say these, not to rant but to say "Can we get a better road map?"

Yes we are getting more patches faster. However, they don't seem to be cohesive. It is like developers are going, "Oooh! Shiny idea! Let's make it! Oooh shiny idea!" and I am asking, (I hope other want it also) for more polish, more of it functioning together.

Look at the structures.
They are already planning a gun to shoot troll ships. So one team is planning a bandaid fix for another team's poor design.

- Optimising code.
- Team coordination.
- Quality <-----|---------> Quantity.

The juggler in the middle is dropping a lot of balls.

P.S. Mods, this is an open request for some re-thinking overall; not a particular patch feed back, not a particular idea request.

If anyone quits playing over the launcher or new icons they're a complete fraggle. Although I hope they do a bit of screeching first for our entertainment. Are you planning on leaving Jen by any chance?

There's nothing wrong with shiny, and if it doesn't make you Oooh! that's your problem.

Most of your complaints are subjective and fall under the heading "I think it's ugly." Unfortunately, these are the kinds of things where you cannot please all the people all the time.

Of all the gripes in your OP, only three of them are legitimate issues that CCP needs to "fix".

1. The launcher & DoD. I'm grouping these together because they cannot really be separated. I agree that if they're going to makea launcher, it needs to function correctly, it needs to be seamless, and most of all, it needs to not slow down my time to game experience. Some people may only have 30 minutes or so of game time available, and spending 5 of that just trying to log in is probably going to persuade them to play something else.

For DoD, I've not had any issues with it, but I trust CCP to stay on top of optimizations for this service so that it doesn't impact game play.

2. New Map. When you have to include probably in a complaint, I'm not surprised that it's not being addressed. For the record, I find scanning in the new map to be quite easy. My only complaint is that I wish it would auto-center on the system I am currently in when I open it, rather than the one I was looking at when I last closed it. Heck make it an toggle option, and I'd be happy. Auto Center on Current System or something.

As for FozzieSov, it (or a version of it) are coming. You may as well get used to the idea. It's actually driving conflict in a nullsec environment that has been stagnant (except for a few small skimishes, some hilarious accidents, and a couple of staged fights), and it hasn't even shipped completely yet - I call that a tentative success.

Nor do I apparently. Already turned off the notifications for station facilities because they are constantly turning off and on.

As far as complaining about it, it's pretty pointless on the forums. Is there even a category in the "why are you cancelling subscription" questionnaire? It kinda qualifies as "can't run the game."

I think I have posted constructively.
I have outlined my frustrations and how I believe they can be addressed or at least pointed in the general direction I hope some adjustment to the steering will take.

This is why I use the offline installer. Big, but using it to upgrade never fails, and I can use it to upgrade multiple machines.
