Strange occurances in Incursion System (ISD Wanted)

Looking for an ISD/GM to advise. Incursion rats located on grid in Finid with Station (only one in system). However they are burning away @ 3.3km/s Yet still on grid at 5800km (and rising) As of the timing of this post. No patch notes noted an AI update, or a change to incursion rats.

They did say some things won't be in patch notes so that people can 'discover' them.

It'd be fun if they gave Incursion rats one of those Drifter blap cannons. GD would be glorious that day.

Bug report filed. However if you want to see the largest grid ever, current eystur and eystur at 8000 km on grid.

npcs burning off a grid is a rather old behavior. If I remember right you can't catch them as you drop off grid as normal, but the NPCs stay visible, been a while since I tried. Recently saw some normal npcs burning 300km or so off a gate, or maybe station, but ignored them as my ammo costs more than their bounties.

not sure on incursion rat behavior though.

At the time of your post they're still on grid, but 11000km off the station, Looks like they're burning back to an asteroid belt? 11.04 AU away.

Ive seen that before, but with normal belt rats. I assume as its an incursion system the belt rats have been replaced with incursion rats, they are just doing the same thing.
Every now and then a belt rat will spawn on a station, or even a gate. I don't know why, but they do it. Once they do, their little AI brain tries to return them to the belt, via slow-boat.

Except it wouldn't. Because people lose shiny ships often in incursions, far more than you think.
And the communities would pass the knowledge as soon as it was discovered, run a cost analysis of new profit potential accounting for lost battleships and logi and make a new doctrine to match.
The only tears would be from the randoms not flying with the communities.

It's a simple "bug" and nothing that needs to change.

In short, what happens is someone warps around to the belts.. as they warp out at the same time as a belt rat spawn is initiated. If it happens JUST right, the rats spawn at the destination, rather than where they were supposed to. That's how you get belt rats at a Gate or Station in Highsec. This is a non-issue, expect when the Incursion is active, then it hurts if you aren't paying attention :)

I've seen this issue for years.. never heard of anyone dying over it.. a few people have had a surprise when they hear the alarm go off while sitting off the station though lol. Yet another reason to not AFK :D

I have seen this before with the local rats. But never Incursion rats. That doesn't mean it can't happen. Especially considering getting an incursion is far less likely then the omni-present local rats.

Years ago I had a true sansha spawn at a friendly pos. I never new that's how the bug happened.

This feature also happens when chasing Officer Spawns.
