Bonus remaps... Given even if you didn't ask for them?

So, today I logged in my alt and wondered when do I have my next remap... I took the holiday gift of 2x 1 aurum token on her and a remap on my main. Now I see that my alt has got 1 bonus remap that I'm practically sure she didn't have before.

Is it that those that took the free remap are suckers since everyone got one for christmas? Or is it a bug?

It's because you had a bonus remap already, except it wasn't listed as such before they changed the UI to present ordinary (timed) remaps and bonus remaps.

Everyone got a free remap some time ago (when the learning skills was removed maybe?).


CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

I have a vague memory of getting one free at some other time too.

you always had one "bonus" and one "timed" ... now because they split it out, you see that you have two total.

No, I didn't have any left, the clock was ticking on it. Now I have one timer ending its time now and a bonus.

You don't understand. They changed the entire system. The old timer just pointed to the next remap which was a bonus one. They changed THAT timer to a hidden 2 week timer and switched the main to your year long main remap. The only thing that was "given" was to ending of that bonus timer (Why spend hours or days coding extra lines to support the old timers as legacy?) instead of moving it to 2 weeks.

It was the right decision and it makes remaps a MUCH better tool to understand now.

Could it be perhaps your yearly remap came up and you had forgotten about that? Everyone gets 1 remap a year anyway, and I highly doubt they gave you another one by accident so I'm thinking it was that. It seems they tripped my remap clock a week early on the yearly one. And yes if you have never used a remap, been in the game long enough, and picked it this year for a gift you would have 3 remaps available.

I abuse the remaps, when we were at 2 remaps at some point I instantly used them....


But the faster ticking of the normal remap clock could be it.
