Hi

I was wondering what is the best Ship to belt-rat vs Guristas (Null Sec)

I want to cut down travel time as much as posible but still maintain a decent killing speed.

Currently i am glancing at Cynabal as an option, or does anyone else have a better suggestion?

An Ishtar?

Most of my time is spend traveling, so i was looking at a faster option for travel. I know i can loose a few seconds on a tripple battleship spawn, but they dont happen on every belt. If i can cut down the travel time, i can gain MUCH more than improving my killing time.

Also the max i need to kill per stop is only 3 Battleships. The Ishtar itself is a nice ship, and i can also actually fly it with ~800 DPS.

I am also thinking about stealth bombers, but i am unable to fly kinetic ones.

Ogre II x5

Faster warp speed than a frigate, under 4 second align time, 943dps and MWD + Cloaky to make travel safer. You should have ample tank against belt rats, however, if not you can swap the drone navigation comp for another tank mod. You can also fit a few flights of ECM drones of different sizes to attempt an escape if you get tackled. This is really the best there is, you can go for a Cynabal for faster warp speed and align time, but you will get far less dps as well as less utility against possible threats.

Nice...

I would only change one thing on the fit... Replace the Nanos with IStabs?

Wouldn't a Talos work well vs. Guristas? Also fairly cheap.

Unless you find the ULTRA RARE multi million ISK bounty pirates. Blink

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

Belt ratting wasnt bad when you could either:

A. Chain the anoms(doesnt work anymore dont bother) Bascically you waited for good BS spawns killed the BSes and left the frigs. Every 15 minutes/ish the battleships would respawn. If you had a **** spawn like cruisers you cleared it to hope for a faction/officer/hauler spawn or more triple battleship spawns.

B. When hauler spawns would literally drop enough minerals that you needed a rorqual to get them all out/ faction spawns seemed to happen more often.

Was nothing like belt ratting and getting enough trit and pyerite to build a carrier.(At the time that was about 300m worth ish Carriers were 600m fully built)

I saw lots of 1.5-2M ISK rats when I visited Deklein recently, before I blundered into some of your instalocking guard dogs on a gate.

I would be happy to tidy up those belts for you, but you should really be more welcoming of guests. All I wanted to do was help those Ishtars run some anoms, and they kept warping away.

hah, I remember getting a 100m trit drop. I had to go and didn't have a hauler I could fly in the pos. Since no one was around to help haul, I left it in the belt and it probably expired, let some locals know about it.

my memories of belt ratting are probably why I don't ever want to go back to 0.0.

A carrier has 25m united of trit.

You can get a maximum of 3 carriers in one spawn.

I hate getting 3 of them since you have to haul it back to station. 😁

I tried the for with the ishtar using 2t2 warp rigs & 2 inertia stabs. I did a race with a corpmate for 4 belts in the around the same planet. After 4 jumps I had way over 25 seconds as an advantage. This is a perfect result for me... Since I have over 20 belts in my home system, rhis means I save about 5 minutes per cycle. The tank is thin but sufficient and I think about swapping out a boost amp for a drone nav comp.

So far I like it...

Cant farm them anymore. You earm more blitzing level 2 missions in highsec than belt ratting. Even mining is better.

Don't belt rat. There is literally no reason to spend your time doing this. I suppose there's always a chance for a faction, officer or hauler spawn, but in all my years playing EvE, I've only ever seen 1 such spawn in a belt (officer, dropped a 1B ISK module). Either way, the odds are so low that it just isn't worth it.

Belt ratting is a waste of time, generally, but if you must do it, use an Ishtar.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.
