Hello, I'm Jason Ellecons and I'm new to Eve Online. I'm confused and poor XD. I have 98k ISK I think. So I'm not sure how to make money fast and being able to get new ships and other important things. Any advice helps, thanks for anyone who helps!
Starting new games is a pain... Hahah

I was told mining is proftiable, what ships to use/cost of them?
Also Missions but I'm not good at fighting on military missions, especially with the starter Gellente ship

thanks,
Jason Ellecons

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the advice helped a lot! Hopefully can start enjoying the game rather then sitting somewhere confused

Look to the career agents for basic orientation then look to https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/The_Blood-Stained_Stars

Should set you up with enough isk to float you for a while.

Not really. The ISK/h is very low compared to alternatives and it gets boring very quickly. Only mine if you really like doing it.(some people find it relaxing)

I usually suggest exploration for new players. It doesn't take any expensive ships, the ISK is good and it pushes you to get out of highsec.

Seconded. It's a good way to meet people too, I find escalations I can't run so I give them to random people I meet.

Thirded. Teaches you good habits for ship to ship PvP (and avoiding it) too.

With 98k in a wallet this idea is rejected and that rejection is supported by the potential ISK costs associated with the ship loses that are common to new players first adventuring into low.

After a short time to establish a means of supporting the ship loses that WILL occur than I fully support the idea of getting out of high sec and exploring around. The major point here is never risk your only ship in low, when you can affordd to have a ship to use in high sec to make some ISK AND a ship you can take and lose in low then get out there and explore.

So what to do in the interim?
Start by running all of the tutorials missions, why exposure to many aspects of life in EvE and free stuff.

Once you have completed all the tutorials then this should be next on your list.
https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/The_Blood-Stained_Stars

About the time you finish that you should be set to venture off into those low sec adventures the others are suggesting.

After that the universe is yours to play in.

Mining is pretty much the worst isk / hour in game. My first advice is to stop listening to what other people tell you.

Play around with the game and try various things out and do what you enjoy doing. You can make isk doing just about anything in this game.

TL;dr
instead of figuring out how to turn this game into a job ( which is exactly what doing something for the sake of monetary reward is ) figure out what you enjoy doing and make isk doing that.

I would always advise doing the exploration tutorial agent to newer players as it opens up a more involved section of PVE rather than mining or missions (personally I cannot stand missions yet I think most new players go towards this as everyone is used to 'quests' in other mmo's) and another thing to do while waiting for skill queue.

Mining is steady income but its a long slog to Mining Barge for a brand new player.

What do you like the idea of when you think of internet spaceships, being sneaky?, being in large fleets?, making stuff?

The best bet is to settle on a path and then try and find some others that share your interest. (PS:// if you are interested in industry.etc feel free to mail me in-game, am on quite often and happy to help new players).

Career agents then Sisters of Eve Blood stained stars is the best advice it sets you up with a decent amount of ships that fulfill different roles and gives you a good amount of ISK as well as experience. I think the Advanced Military agent gives you a destroyer at the end of his mission line as well, which is pretty cool. If you do all the Career agents and the SOE Epic you will end up with around 25M ISK; more if you sell the probes. I wouldn't recommend mining unless you have really gotten yourself in a hole and are desperate for ISK.

except for us, because we are right! P

I'd say the best thing to do is do the tutorial, do the career agents, and then try the SoE Epic arc. after that you should have some isk, ships, a feel for the world, and the whole what to do decision to make all over Cool

I'm a little disappointed you weren't in the the fleet earlier. I thought the pre fight trash talk was spilling into the forums.

To OP on a ever so slightly related note (to the above banter). Make space friends. EVE is a bajillion times better when you're flying with people, even if it's just one other person as your wing man, it makes a world of difference. Take a chance and talk with people, ESPECIALLY anyone who does horrible things to your ship.

Alternatively, in all seriousness, make space ENEMIES !
You can have fun in far more ways than by being friends with them !

That is pretty funny especially coming from someone from RvB since you guys are like professional enemies. It makes me think of a cartoon that I saw many years ago and vaguely recall in which two characters that were supposed to be mortal enemies ( it was something like spy vs spy or coyote road runner or something similar ) were saying good morning to each other as they were showing up with their lunch pails and then punched a time clock and went at it all day. After which they punched out and said see you tomorrow and headed home.

Not sure why that particular cartoon skit has stuck with me all these years but I recall it from time to time and your post made me giggle and think of it once again.

well OP maybe you can listen to Chainsaw then but I'd take everything that I say with a grain of salt and not believe anything I tell you and only use information that I give you as suggestions that you can go out and confirm or disprove through your own experience.

I'm not *from* RvB.
I am *in* RvB.

And I am not playing with them.
Not Red, not Blue.

The last thing I'd do is waste my time with these mostly boring people.

At least it made you giggle.
Can't say these people make me anything but feel opposition for them.
