Finally got everything up and running started making some contacts... I am now making ISK here is the break down I'm new to the industry and market so take it easy on me. All mining was done on my own, no taxes at all due to direct trade

Item Type: Tech I Hobgoblins
Order Type: Bulk Direct Trade
Amount: 500
Price per Unit: 6.800 ISK
Total Profit: 3.400.000 ISK

Item Type: Vexor
Order Type: Direct Trade
Amount: 2
Price per Unit: 11.000.000 ISK
Total Profit: 22.000.000 ISK

Item Type: Rocket Fuel
Order Type: Bulk Direct Trade
Amount: 6000
Price per Unit: 6500 ISK
Total Profit: 39.000.000 ISK

Total Individual Products Sold: 6502
Total ISK Made: 64.400.000 ISK

So this is me finally mining and producing on my own. Next week production is going to go up I will be adding construction blocks to my PI chain... All orders are done direct trade because I deal directly with my private agents. Please feel free to critique, comment or help in any way! Enjoy

Your minerals are free?

Well, that's his revenue, and technically profit if no expenses were incurred in the process. Manufacturing installation jobs are free? P

Income per hour breakdown on that would be interesting.

Hmmm the breakdown looks something like this:

He is building a titan and in the hour he finishes it he has made 100b.

Sooooo income per hour = 100b Lol

Like I said guys new :/ missed alot stuff all part of the learning curve! Technically the minerals are free since I mined them correct? And should have incorporated the station fees...

Ahhhh ok then let´s be a little bit more polite if you´re truly new to industry.

Yes technically the minerals are free because you didn´t pay anything to get them.
But no practically minerals you mined yourself are not free because you need time to get them. Your time is free?

And as GankYou already stated your installation fees (and additional taxes on them) also need to be calculated.

You ever tried a third party programm or website like Fuzzwork?

Hey there Maverick!

First off good on you for giving industry a try! However it can be a bit more tricky than at first glance.

I will give you a little hypothetical example that will hopefully clarify why you should not consider that your minerals are free:

Let's say you go out mining, get some rocks, and build yourself some catalysts.

As it turns out, the materials (minerals) to make a catalyst at the best ME/PE are in actual fact worth more than the final product. So if you go out and mine enough to make 10 catalysts, and then build them, you've lost some isk.

You would have been better off (ie you would have made more isk) if you had just sold the minerals directly!

So, considering you can sell minerals directly and make some isk for the time you spent mining, it's important when building stuff to actually calculate the input and output costs and make sure that you are gaining isk for your effort! This includes the manufacturing cost, as this cuts directly into your profits.

Additionally, if you consider your minerals to be 'free' then it will seem no big deal to list your final products on the market at a price that is too low, which is also doing yourself a disservice as you could have made more isk.

This is a somewhat tough thing to learn, and many miners and new players consider their minerals to be free (I know I did for a time :/ )

Happy building!

Yes his time is free. Time spenditure is not the interesting argument in the "minerals are not free" debate.
What Kirsten Grolsh says, is the actual argument.

Ok sweet thanks for the help guys... Living in null sec so luckily installation fees etc are cheap! I am going to obtain some bpc for capital parts because I have capital construction at I and that's a pretty demanding thing here in imperium any more tips anyone?

read Kirsten's post above enough times until you understand it fully.

That is the basis for making money from manufacturing.

Also never forget any costs you incur that take away from profit, buying bpc, installation, taxes, transport etc - they can turn a slightly profitable thing in to a loss making thing

Well, Lowend mineral prices in null are not the same as in the Empire, but neither are Catalysts, or Vexors. On balance, it should be more profitable to sell the ore/minerals as Kirsten Grolsh suggests.

If he did indeed sell the Vexors at 11 p/u, with the higher refining yields he very well could be making more than merely selling the resources. Blink
