Hello again, New Eden!

It's been some time since I've posted, but the wait has been worth it for me; I'm here to tell you about yet another gigantic development in the cluster (and, well, beyond it too!). You've all undoubtedly heard bits and pieces of things- Tukoss's broadcast, "his" messages on the IGS, the Drifter Wormholes, etc., so I'm gonna lay out what exactly they are and what seems to be going on!

First things first: The Unidentified Wormholes will be opening with Carnyx

Yep, you read it right: the previously unidentified wormholes will now be completely open for us to pass through (well, watch out for Drifters), and will all be one of five distinct new entries in the DB. Each one of the wormholes is shattered, and each contains a specifically named site.

The wormholes are as follows:

J055520 - Wormhole S877 - "Sentinel"
J110145 - Wormhole B735 - "Barbican"
J164710 - Wormhole V928 - "Vidette"
J174618 - Wormhole R259 - "Redoubt"
J200727 - Wormhole C414 - "Conflux"

Each of the wormholes also has five unique, static sites listed as "unidentified anomalies"- you can take a closer look at these (very pretty) sites on Interstellar Privateer.

Back to the main sites, however: each one, by the observations me and a very fun team of players made the day SISI was updated, contains several rooms and is laid out in such a way that it is impossible to reach the end without others. Two paths lead to a second-to-last room, where the paths cross and you all end up together. It is guarded by sleeper drones who just so happen to incur a drifters standing loss.... Once you pass the gate in this room, however, the magic happens Blink

The Hive

Do you remember the gigantic thing in the background of the Emergent Threats trailer from fanfest this year? Because I sure did when I saw this structure in the last room. This is the "(Insert site name) Hive"; at the end of the site, you find it sitting in the wreckage of sleeper constructs, which in turn have expelled Sleeper Canopics and Jove (Sleeper) Corpses !

Now, this is already amazing: but what about lore? What does this mean?

Well, for one, it places the events of the Emergent Threats trailer in context and in concrete; the Drifters/Seekers have taken the bodies of the Sleepers to create their own (which supports one of my personal theoriesBlink) and looking at Tukoss's broadcast (and the very fun preview we had on SISI for a day or two), the hives serve as Drifter bases. Things have changed now, as have the NPCs in the rooms, but that much remains clear.

As for what they are... well, the description of the Architect Motherships in Templar One shares more than a small similarity with their appearance.

Here's an album of pictures taken during our first run through the site: some are quite pretty :)

Now, the Hives are protected by a small fleet of Sleeper drones and one Hikanta Tyrannos.

Hikanta Tyrannos

This drifter has been in the game's database since Tiamat, where they first appeared. However, it has not been encountered in-game until now.

While exploring the conflux site, I came upon the Hikanta; however, I was unable to get any more information than confirmation that yes, it is indeed there at the center, guarding the Vault (which was empty at our first entry, yet is now filled) at the center of the Hive.

The "Drifter Battleship 2" in the files has changed from placeholder to a real Drifter ship, which is why it seems more than likely that the Hikanta will be special.

As for the Vault itself: there are 10 new "unidentified components" on sisi, all of which seem like they'll be coming from the Hives and Vaults: see here. They don't have any obvious purpose as of yet, but they will undoubtedly be something central to future events: the Indexes will all-but-certainly function as keys to the Vaults, which seem pretty likely to house the Elements. Whatever the radioactive bread (credit Anslo) is for, I'm very interested to see what comes of them.

I'll be keeping you updated on this stuff as it unfolds.

Thanks for listening Blink

You had me at sleeper corpses.

More importantly, can you scoop them?

Sadly, no- they're LCO's. That's not to say things couldn't change eventually (though I'm certain this is decoration])

Ah well, at least I have the old body parts P

Good stuff yet again.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.
