Eve Client start delayed

Since the last patch, it sometimes takes the Eve client several minutes to start up.

The progress bar at the bottom stays grey... after several minutes, it will sort of randomly turn orange, then I get the 'Client ready' message and I can login.

Has anyone else experienced this?

By any chance did you enable "Download all the resource files"?

It's a failure on CCPs part. They don't communicate that the launcher is busy.
I guess showing a launcher that looks stuck is a way to tell us.

In any way, I don't have all resources downloaded and the option isn't activated.
I still get this. I simply do something else until it's ready.

People say the launcher is checking gamefiles.

I'm sure CCP will fix it.

Oh wow. I've been running with the idea its utterly broken and stopped using it altogether. Only when there's an update and I cant connect I activate the launcher. That's the only time when it works (or so I thought)

If you don't want to wait; use the exe-file in the "bin" folder in the EVE/CCP folder.

Oh ok.. at least now I know it's doing something.

Yeah, it would be nice to get some kind of visual feedback that something is downloading or reading or whatever...

The launcher is completely broken for me, it won't do anything, even when left on over night. I tried running the repair tool, it hasn't helped.

Delete the launcher folder in the main EVE installation, then run the repair tool.
This will wipe your cached usernames, but as long as you log in at least once per account with two-factor authentication disabled and without being prompted for a character name, the launcher will remember the username (at which point you can reenable 2FA).

Client launch will be delayed even if you launch the client without a launcher (/bin/exefile.exe) every time after system reboot. Exefile.exe remains idle for 1-2 minutes+ as seen on this picture. My bug report about this was submitted on 16 April and still remains open with the comment "Huh, that's strange".
