[ship balance] Removing or reducing double bonuses

So, right now in the line up of ships, there are a few stand out bonuses. Things like the scorpion having 3 bonuses on a t1 hull, or the t1 base of interceptors sharing a role bonus on t1 hulls. Then there are bonuses which create actual problems. Things like the double bonuses on the Ishtar and dominix to range and tracking in one bonus slot, which gives them a stronger application bonus than any other hull in their class by far.

This thread is about fixing that latter class of out of line bonuses. The initial proposal keeps the bonuses to both attributes, but cuts deeply into the numbers involved. Any other reasonable bonuses suggested will be added to the OP, as well as the number of +1s and links to anyone who can prove it is absolutely broken.

OP's suggestion:

Ishtar: 5 %bonus to Sentry Drone optimal range and tracking speed to 2.5%bonus to Sentry Drone optimal range and tracking speed
Dominix

Dominix 7.5 %bonus to Drone optimal range and tracking speed to 5%bonus to Drone optimal range and tracking speed

This set of changes brings the ability of these ships to project and apply damage closer to in line with other ships of their class. Drone optimal range is almost exclusively an issue with sentries, and unless you are using multiple navigation computers, tracking is also of minimal issue with most drones, so these changes mostly target the ability of these hulls to use and in the minds of most, abuse, sentry drones.

Ishtar:
Gallente Cruiser skill bonus per level:
7.5% Heavy Drone max velocity and tracking speed
10% bonus to Light Drone, Medium Drone, and Heavy Drone hitpoints and damage
5% bonus to Sentry Drone hitpoints and damage
7.5% bonus to Drone tracking speed

Heavy Assault Cruisers skill bonus per level:
5000m bonus to Drone operation range
5% bonus to Sentry Drone optimal range and tracking speed
20% bonus to drone MWD speed

Role Bonus:
50% reduction in MicroWarpdrive signature radius penalty

Bandwidth 50 (-75)





Dominix:
Gallente Battleship skill bonus per level:
10% bonus to Drone Damage and Drone hitpoints
7.5% bonus to Drone optimal range and Drone tracking speed

For a second i thought you meant "dps bonus on the t1 hull and a dps bonus on the assault frigate part" like on a Wolf for example...

But this might actually be sensible...

The scorpion however i feel wouldnt need to be changed as i kinda like it as is... sure it has 3 bonusses but its not like that is putting it in an "imbalanced" state as we discussed in your batleship thread...

Which is why the 3 bonuses on the scorpion is in the first category in the OP, along with the needed role bonus to the t1 base versions of interceptors, which have such bad cap they would otherwise lose tackle by capping themselves out.

isn't this the sort of thing they have already been doing with the ishtar?

rather than just cutting it like they have sadly done with ships/mods in the past(rip drake) they are doing it slower and taking advantage of the faster release cycle




double bonuses are not bad and there is no written rule on the number or types of bonuses a t1 or any hull should have this gives the game and devs more freedom.

are some broken sure but its more to do with the type or level rather than the number


like the scorp sure it has 3 bonuses but it in no way is an op hull and is one of the more balanced ecm ships if not underutilized in the current high speed and kite meta



in all this just seems like a stealth nerf ishtar thread and is a bit redundant

So, an istar now gets to enjoy a hard cap to it's DPS of 5 augmented hammers, for about 550 DPS with 5 meta 14 DDAs. Thats a bit brutal to the maximum damage capability. maybe 75 bandwidth instead.....

It is in no way stealth. It is looking for making the double bonus on the ishtar and dominix to range and application more in line with their respective categories of ships.

in that case it is just redundant and it is not broken on the dominix as unlike the Ishtar you can close range and one that happens it becomes manageable until support shows up to finish it.


problem with the ishtar is the fact that it is given that bonus to a weapon class higher than its hull and also the range control the Ishtar possess
