If you have a sense of humor and understand internet spaceships is not really serious business and ranting about it is just well, childish, this place is a goldmine.

There is on occasion a good thread that is very informative. Here are three very recent ones:

How many times have we seen this topic before?

You have 3 guys, 2 who are subbed and 1 who used to be subbed that post on about 8 alts spamming the forums 24/7, so that is why it is like that.

A few changes I've noticed:
- Now that invention is super cheap, calls for the removal of T2 BPOs are more or less gone. They are neat collectors items that generate very little return on investment.

- Forum moderation seems a lot more aggressive. Threads get locked or moved more than they used to. This reduces the number of random bs threads you used to see all the time.

- In general, the forums seem more "dead" than they used to. I suspect this is because while EVE account population has remained stable, the number of unique people subscribing is falling.

This thread should be locked now , discussing forum moderation is not acceptable ....

Most conversations are rerruns.

So it makes sense that forums repeat that pattern, along with that natural tendency to talk about boring stuff, forums also tend to divide into two camps.

One camp wants something easier for something they don't have, the other camp wants things harder to get for stuff they have.

That's pretty much the schism you can divide any topic over. PvPers and Carebears is a common division.

On top of that forums are usually leaderless, the company running the show usually prefers to not interfere with forums and lets them wander aimlessly. Presumably it's cheaper to do that. So the forums wander lost.

And when you get lost you tend to wander in circles.
