Regarding notifications and communications mails

In the past these caused the mailbox to blink, now you must manually check if you have a notification in the communications mailbox if you were not looking at the screen when the notification came in.

Even if you open the mailbox, the communication tab does not indicate it has anything new in it, so you have to manyally peek in there to make sure everything is in order. Maybe I am just lazy, but in my opinion alerts should actually alert you, not just lurk in the bottom of a drawer in a locked basement where the sign says "beware the tiger".

This can be pretty harsh because you can very easily miss POS fuel notifications or attacks, wardecs and numerous other important things.

I, apparently in error* reported the lack of blink as a bug but was pointed in this direction to discuss this "new" feature.

*I really thought that a previously present feature that goes missing is a bug, but whatever...

It might, but does require a fair bit of tuning the settings for the notifications to prevent them for being drowned in contacts on and offlining.

Ok so it IS possible to configure what appears in the notifications, which is good.
What I dont get is why the mail icon blink was removed.

Having used the blinking mail tab as an indicator of something needing attention and replacing it with a pop up that goes off a couple times a minute is something that should AT LEAST been made clear to us. My entire corporation has always been instructed to check blinking mail and no one even knew we were not only out of fuel but also subsequently war dec'd.
