We have the technology to transfer consciousness from one clone to another and yet we can’t produce robots that can transfer one item from one container to another remotely?

Easier to plug data into another Ai (us) then to create the same exact object in another station...

Know what happens whenever anyone makes automation software more complex than a pocket calculator in Eve?

It hijacks your ship, starts speaking Russian, and flies off to the drone regions to munch on asteroids and build weird-lookin' space stations.

There's a reason why even your ship drones require the conscious direction of a capsuleer, they tried the other way and it went all terminator on them in about 30 seconds.

Robots? Dude, we don't have CELL PHONES, you have to dock in a station to talk to an agent before you get into your faster than light space ship, undock and travel to a whole other solar system to kill (NPC) Pirates with space weapons.

Thank god we don't have cellphones. Imagine the pileups on the undocks due to texting while piloting, not to mention what happens if Space Apple gets into the spaceship business. There would be no reppers or even modules! Once your iThorax takes damage or you want to upgrade it, you would have to just buy a new one.

So much nope.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Pretty sure you can interact with the agent. Just not get/complete a mission so I guess we still use printed form of contract requiring us to manually sign them...

maybe there are restrictions on complex ai's. Because of rouge drones... that is also the reason why drones are so stupid. Focused fire must be a very hard task for a drone ^^

you need to be more spacific as to which sections you are talking about.

Like do you mean in pos'? cause yea its silly that i have to have stuff in 10 different arrays to make stuff.

do you mean in stations? because it makes sense to have thing sin different hangers that are not associated due to roles. And much like irl if you move form one station to another your stuff is not automaticly shifted just like moving your house.

Also some of the things now are still based off infrastructure and base code form 2000, which had different design goals then now and different reasoning behind said goals.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

One Au is in excess of 8 minutes of communications lag (roughly 8 minutes 20 seconds) each way. Generally speaking, it's actually significantly faster to warp back to the station, dock, talk to the agent, undock, and warp back to the mission location than it would be to talk on a cell signal/radio. And that's assuming your'e even in the same system.

As for why they don't spend precious entangled particles to relay messages through the FTL data network... well, as a capsuleer you probably wouldn't be terribly happy if only half your skill points were able to get back to your clone when you were podded because some **** was downloading space porn on his iPhone 3000G and took up too much of the tower bandwidth.

It's implied that even market data is propagated by the equivalent of handing a flash drive to a horse messenger, when even your in-system warp on your slowest ships is more than 100 times the speed of light wireless communications are sort of... limited in their usefulness.

We once had a POS go skynet on us, the last thing we need is to give it the ability to build stuff.

Yes we did

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

When all our POSes and structures go skynet CCP will make EVE II aptly named:

I asume you referring too items in destructubale stations in the structure blogs? If not be precise,
Cause couriers and such are a occupation for guys like frog. And differences in markets create income and trade/commerse. Ganking is a part of eve, as much as hauling.

Bit more precise

Creativity. You lack it. Maybe you should be playing checkers or something.
